Meetup #16 - MATTA Fair & Supporting Steemians

Previously on my Meetup​, we had our dinner at BHB Setapak with some Sabahan Steemians who just arrived in​ KL to participate the upcoming Matta Fair 2018 at PWTC from March 16-18th, 2018.

Right after our FBG session, @zord189, @joannewong and I went for our late lunch at La Bodega​ at Pavillion to meet up with @natalie and @crypto3d who leave earlier after our FBG session to send something to repair in downtown KL.

Our lunch today is not the ​salad 😅 but Big Breakfast although is a bit late for that, ​we still have it. One of the chefs​ must be off duty as our order came out quite late until our drinks are​ almost finished.

Matta Fair

For those who don't know what's MATTA FAIR, Matta Fair is an annual event that promotes premier travel extravaganza, cheap hotel/flight & tour deals, providing global exposure and endless business opportunities to visitors.

It's held in a space area of over 29,000 square meters​ which comprise of Hall 1-5 of PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. Hall 1-3 is​ the international exhibition, whereas hall 4-5 is the domestic exhibition.

We went to PWTC after our lunch by Uber because driving will become a headache especially the traffic jam that happens around PWTC and parking will be an issue as well. After a slight traffic jam, we finally arrived PWTC and greeted by a large crowd of visitors and cars aren't moving much outside.

We then proceed to the ticket counter to buy our admission ticket which cost RM 4 (0.5 STEEM) per adult,​ luckily there were few counters​ open which lesser down the queue to get the ​ticket. After purchasing, we then proceed to go up by following the flow of the crowd going as some of the entrance was blocked to ensure the human traffic flow is smooth and prevent crowding up.

We went to Hall 3 to look at​ first as it's the nearest hall from the entrance, and look who we bump into? Our ex-housemate which we haven't been seeing each other for quite sometimes (few years I think 🤔), it's just super coincident to bump into her here, she's working as the photographer for the Philippines​ Tourism Group. We had a short talk, a picture together and definitely​ we'll be meeting her up and introduce her this Steemit, that we've been hinting her haha 😂.

After the meetup, we went to Domestic Hall 5 which @veenang, @gelfire, @viverridae and all the Sabah & Sarawak booth are there. Sarawak Tourism even brought in their Cultural troops to boost the performance of​ their tourism sales for this fair.

For those who didn't know about this, @veenang just started to accept STEEM & SBD for travelling which is great for any Steemians who wanted to travel to Malaysia 😉. You can read more about the detail of this initiative at his post, here.

After visiting them, we went around to check out what are the deals around. Every booth is offering cheap flight tickets​, hotels, tour and even cruise ship too as well but we didn't buy any of this as we need to conserve money on some upcoming big event 😉 which will be announced​ soon.

Outside is still jam pack with traffics even though​ is already dinner time, so instead of ordering Uber, we went to take the LRT instead. It's been ages since our last public transport usage, as we driving around most of the time.
