Why Should you Spend Meditating Once a Day?

In today's world we really tend to get busy with our works. There is a massive technological development trend. A lot of us have dedicated ourselves so much into work we do that we get burned out and stressed. We know a lot of people who are depressed and mentally unstable because of the pressure they went through, We have completely forgotten to appreciate the life we have and live it to the fullest. We tend to neglect the beauty of nature around of us because we are really accustomed to it. We have lost our focus and concentration. We have lost our connection of mind, body and spirit,
So, that's exactly what I want to talk about in today's post. I was introduced to meditation about 5 years ago when I joined a program called Art of Living. There they taught the benefits of mediation and how one can meditate. I started taking those session and within few months I saw changes inside be in terms of emotion and mentality. The level of stress you feel dramatically decreases. Mediation definitely doesn't solve your problems but it certainly gives you that amount of calmness to deal with it.
Meditation boosts you creativity and focus on what you do. Basically every job that you do requires a bit of human creativity. If that is accomplished than the end result is quite unique than what others are doing. Studies shows that people who spend at least few minutes meditating a day have greater focus and concentration. They have better memory and can retain a lot of information for longer period of time.
For example you got off your car, went inside your house, did of couple of things and now you forgot where you kept your keys. Why does that happen? It's because you kept your keys without thinking about what you did that the information got erased so quickly. Meditation definitely helps to overcome such problems.
Mediation has greater benefits in terms of managing your emotions. We as a human tend to focus a lot on the outside factor and never really consider the greater and better factors. Someone at work called you lazy and incompetence at work place. You get really frustrated by those words. You focus so much on what they say that you forget the actual reality. Mediation helps to explore the universe you have inside your body and tap into the potential you have. You no longer need to be bothered by their opinion because it's just their opinion. No one can tell you you can't do something.
Mediation has health benefits as well. Although not scientifically proven meditation has helped numerous people who suffered from depression, anxiety, cancer, insomnia, blood pressure and many more.
It all about creating a link between mind, body and soul.
So how can you start?
I suggest you to read few books before starting your daily session. It gives you insights of what you should be doing.
Practical Meditation: Spiritual Yoga for the Mind
-The way and goal of Rajyoga
-They are good books.
You should start with meditating in a quiet room. Relax yourself. Keep calm. Start with few minutes a day. At first you wont be able to concentrate, but that is a skill learned overtime. Always meditate at the same time schedule. Keep your consistency and gradually increase the amount of time on each dose.
You should definitely see a difference in your life. You'll be able to live your life to the fullest and understand the surroundings around you.
