Musing is an easy-to-use straightforward question/answer platform where contributors are rewarded for providing excellent answers to queries while they can as well ask questions themselves. It is like the famous question/answer platform, Quora but this one rewards its users for using the platform.

Musing is built on STEEM blockchain and its rewards for users come in form of upvote. When a user asks or provides answer to a question, his content is upvoted by the @musing Steemit account and this upvote represents the user's reward for his effort on the platform. The voting weight depends largely on the merit of the contribution and how your followers react to it based on their feedback.

Getting Started With Musing
To use Musing, visit their website through this link or simply type musing.io on your web browser. You will be redirected to their homepage. See it below.
At the top right corner, you will find two tabs; Log In and Sign Up. Since you are a new user, you are required to click on the later. This will redirect to the page shown below.
As a Steemit user, you are required to click on Login With Steem. If you do not have a Steemit account yet, you will need to click on the second option and that will redirect you to Steemit sign-up page.
Now that you have clicked on the option meant for Steemit users, the SteemConnect page should show up asking for your permission to use your account. Click Continue.
We are getting there gradually. If you have already logged into your Steemit account on the browser you are using to access Musing.io, then your account should show up. Simply click on it. Otherwise, click on Choose Another Account option. They both lead to the same page anyway.
If you have already signed into your Steemit account on the web browser, your username and password key will automatically appear. Otherwise, type in your username and paste your password in the required fields. To get your password, go to Wallet on your Steemit account, click on Permissions and then click Show Posting key. Now copy the password and go back to the Musing page and paste it there. Click on Sign In and you are good to go.

Asking a question on Musing
Musing has a straightforward easy-to-use interface that does not require extra tutorial to understand. Now that you have logged in, you should find a + sign beside your profile image at the top right corner.
Click on it and the following page should appear.
Supply the required fields; type in your question, add relevant tags and description if you so wish (this is optional) and click on Submit when you are through.

Providing answer for a question on Musing
There are three tabs under Feeds on Musing homepage. The HOT houses questions that have already received good merit and feedbacks within a very short period of time after submission. The NEW houses the most recently submitted questions while we have the highly rated submissions that have received good feedbacks and upvotes within the TOP tag.
You can click on any of the three listed tags explained above and the questions that are under them will show up.
Go through the questions and attempt providing answer for any of them. Choose the one that you understand very well and can provide an excellent answer for. Click on Answer to attempt a question.
Type in your answer and hit on Submit. Your answer should be published immediately.
What I Like About Musing
- Since upvote rewards are based on the quality and merit of contributions, users are encouraged to submit only answers and questions that are of great value. This DApp has the ability to push Quora aside as the incentives that come from using it will result in making it a repository for quality and outstanding contents in the near future.
- Also, when you ask questions on Musing, expect to get nothing less than the truth as answers. Another credit to how contents are valued on Musing.
- It creates another way of earning rewards on Steemit and this will bring in a new set of users with different interest.
Where I think Musing Needs Improvements On (Demerits)
- Somehow, users get to misuse the system by resubmitting already answered questions, this time, twisting the questions to make them look like they have not been submitted before. Some contributors are doing this so as to milk the system. I believe that the Musing team needs to find a way to counterattack this to improve the credibility and integrity of the platform.
- Secondly, I believe Musing would be having a far greater number of users had the issue of questions being shown on Steemit blog been attended to. Not everyone feels great about having their blog filled up with questions especially the niche bloggers that already have targeted audience. I think the platform could have been acquired by Oracle-D, Utopian and SteemSTEM users (coders, videographers, content creators etc.) if they could ask questions and get satisfying answers while keeping their blogs tidy. I am not familiar with SteemConnect and STEEM DApps, so maybe you just cannot do without posting on Steemit when you build your DApp on STEEM. Be that as it may, is there such thing as a problem that cannot be solved in the tech world!?
Conclusion and Star Rating
Regardless of what I see as the "demerit" of this DApp, I think this is an amazing project in all. Think about it; asking questions and providing answers is the hobby of some people. It is what they enjoy doing most. And no matter how you look at it, this DApp will surely bring in a new set of users on Steemit thereby growing Steemit commit community and STEEM blockchain in general. I would rate it 4/5.
