˝Does Bunny want a carrot?˝ a lewd voice shouted up at the stage. He went ignored in the sea of voices covering the whole bar. All eyes were on the main event that evening and they were all enthralled with the figure skillfully twirling around the pole in the center. She may be a stripper, but her performance was tasteful, her toned body glistening under the strong stage lightning.

Bunny lived for the thrill of performance and she thrived under the many gazes. Her eyes were shining and she was slightly flushed from exertion but she flirted with the audience and enchanted them as if she was their goddess. Her shows were always sold out for that reason. Everybody wanted a piece of her. But that wasn't a part of her job and she remained a mystery to everyone, including the personnel of the night bar.

When she finished her dance she picked up the silken button-up shirt and slung it over her shoulder. She gave one last smouldering gaze to her audience and left with long strides, swaying her hips. The applause that followed her was booming, almost inappropriately for the location in which she worked. It cut through the smoky air like a bomb.
She didn't pay attention, she never did. Her interest didn't lay in interacting with people, solely in dancing and getting her reward money.

Backstage she was met by the bar's manager; an old man always looking forward to money ˝Good job Bunny, you made it rain money as always.˝
She absently nodded, still caught in the adrenalin fueled bliss.
˝You know…˝ she knew that tone and already knew what followed. They had this conversation monthly and it ruined her mood. Bunny sighed and gazed at him impatiantely.

The manager continued, undisturbed by her sigh ˝As I've said before, we could both earn so much more if you accepted private dancers. When they see you, it's like showing a carrot to an ass. They go crazy for you.˝
She groaned at the bad comparison. Ever since she took the stage name Bunny she was followed by bad analogies containing carrots. Barely restraining herself she answered ˝Boss, you know I love working here, but it won't happen.˝
The balding man lost his cheer ˝I see you are still unreasonable as ever.˝ he continued a falsely gentle tone, trying to convince her ˝I know you need money, think about it. You could pay your way through college without ever again taking a credit. You could send some back to your family, after all there is always someone weak and in need.˝

Bunny groaned yet again. The manager assumed she had family in South America because of her latina looks which was false but not the only problem she hat with him at the moment. She was getting impatient ˝I don't do this to pay my way through college, boss and I most certainly am not a bleeding heart and it would please me if you didn't take me for one.˝ She raised her hand when he tried to speak over her ˝This is an end to this conversation. You know where to find me.˝

The manager was struck still at her brusque tone and didn't get to reply. He tryied to follow her but changed his mind and let her be.

Oblivious to his dilemma she sat down in the changing room. She was the last performer and the room was already emptly; the girls either left to go home or to other duties. Bunny meticulously took of her make up, mumbling to herself ˝It's not like I don't have money for college, it's not like I have to have a day job to survive.˝She started brushing her hair ˝And sick family!˝ she giggled to herself ˝They could buy the best doctors in the country if they wanted…˝ she trailed of for a second and then started laughing at herself ˝After all, I am the daughter of our vice president!˝
