I am a big fan of groats as they are "slow release carbs" meaning they digest more slowly, helping to keep our blood sugar level stable.

-They are whole grain which means they are more filling and minimally processed!
-They are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, such as selenium, manganese, magnesium, zinc, copper, iron, phosphorus and potassium, as well as B vitamins and contain good amount of Fiber!
☝️Fiber intake in the UK is well below the recommended level of 30 g per day for adults so we really need get more wholesome foods on our plate!🥭🍇🍆🥒🥬🥯🍠🥔🥦
Don't worry they are not fattening! if you are following me for some time then i am sure you know by now, that there is no fattening foods!
Weight gain typically results from eating more calories than your body uses and calories can be from any source - protein, fat, carbohydrate or alcohol.
So how do you make a 15 min meal from this and rich in fiber?
🔪🔪Cook your grains earlier, portion in small bags and freeze
🛒🛒Get plenty of ready cooked ,canned beans and lentils from shop.They will help you easily to reach recommended 30g of fiber.
🍤🍳🐓Choose your fave protein source and buy it cooked too- chicken breast or fish fillets, sea food are great!
👩🍳👩🍳Use your fave dressing or make your own using natural yogurt, garlic and Dijon mustard.
👨🍳👨🍳To add more vitamins, minerals and healthy fats, sprinkle with tbsp of mixed seeds like pumpkin or sesame seeds or add some olives or avocado.
