Market Friday is still in my Hometown
Last market Friday i have shown you our local products and delicacies of my town, Now, today I would like you to show you a glimpse of our vegetable section in our public market. Most of our product in our town is Fresh, and mostly are produce by locals or our local farmers. We have been lucky that we are blessed with natural resources from sea to land. So, we grow most of our crops to sustain the needs of our community.
Local fresh vegetables in the market. Its either plant by our local farmers or planted by locals from their backyard.
Our natural resources helps a lot in our community by decreasing unemployment of our town. Our town have vast land area and sea to get our basic needs.
Tropical vegetables like eggplant, okra's, bittergourd ,stringbeans, local sweet potatoes, edible flowers and many more (we can make lots of variation of vegetables for that : ). I can say they are fairly cheap because they are locally harvested, the freshest vegetable you can get. In our place, the earlier you go for market, the freshest and the nicest vegetables you can acquire. You can also practice your haggling techniques, But this is best apply when its nearly home time or siesta, as the vendors wants to sell out their products to go home early or have siesta : )
Vegetable vendors are also selling vegetables in packed or bundle with a different price variation from the whole vegetables.
Some of the vendors prefer to lay their products with a cloth on the floor, some may prefer to put in a table for display. But whichever manners you still guarantee a fresh, new veggies.
Every Monday is our Market Day, lots of vendors and people come to shop especially by the morning, then it lie low by the afternoon and start again by 4pm till night. You can find all sorts of things, we have a different area for veggies and fruits, an area for fish market and little convenient shop inside the market.
I missed my home town (San Fabian, Pangasinan). It has so much to offer! what a lovely place to find comfort and relaxation.
This is my participation to #marketfriday by the initiative of @dswigle. Thank you so much, we are privileged to share our culture and traditions, and learn from other cultures through your initiative.

So lovely so see fresh veggies! How do you call that veggie that looks like a wrinkle cucumber? Does it have a bitter taste?
Oh yes, its a bittergourd. Really bitter!
Sometimes when we cook it, we squeeze it to take out the bitter juice, then cook it. Or, when cooking try not mix/stir each time for avoiding the juice to come out.
Thank you @lymepoet. Xx
