Today I was at the Forum Lviv shopping center. To be more precise, I went to the Silpo grocery store inside theshopping mall to buy some products back home. Although there is still a month before New Year and Christmas (in Ukraine, as in several other Orthodox countries, Christmas is two weeks later than in the rest of the world), but some Christmas elements can be noticed. For example, this deer at the entrance to the mall. Or a small Christmas tree in the Silpo itself.

Here we see apples, the price for them is 21-27 UAH, it's about a dollar. Here's a strawberry fresh, notwithstanding the winter, which costs 44 UAH, ($1.8). In principle, you can buy a kilo of strawberries, but it is not as tasty and juicy as grown in the summer under the sun. The price of a kilo of bananas is about the same as a kilo of apples, also about $1. Price of tomatoes $1.5, bread - $0.5 - $1. Prices seem to be low, but when you have a salary of $ 300, you have to save.

Today, I first saw snails in the grocery store for about $ 3.5 per 100 grams. Earlier I read that there are already several farms near Lviv that grow grape snails for sale, but they have focused on restaurants and exports. In Silpo I had never seen snails before. I didn't buy them, I needed more traditional food. In addition, I can collect such snails for free at home if I wish to taste them.

Very cool shots. Happy Friday Shady!

I loved it, @shady! It is always interesting to see another country's markets and other parts of their culture. Price really is relative, isn't it? If you don't make a huge salary, inexpensive food really isn't all that cheap, is it?

I agree with that. The produce looks wonderfull fresh but I agree, summer and fruits always taste better without benefit of a hothouse. Thank you so much for joining in the #MarketFriday challenge!

Is it possible for you to post your link on the original post so that they are easy to find?

You can find it here.

Who doesn't love to see what they will be selling in some foreign market, shopping in places I have never been to and some, never even heard of. There is always a curiosity attached to foreign ingredients, different produce or any product sold. So, yes! I would love to see yours! We all do!! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery, art galleries, or even a Christmas Market, wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Don't forget to use the hashtag #MarketFriday and @dswigle.
Please leave the link to your post on here so it can easily be found by others. They are easier to find in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you so much!! ❤

#MarketFriday loves you!
