RE: Taking a Stroll Through the Street Market of Vila do Conde (Portugal)

in #marketfriday6 years ago

Thank you so much for joining us in #MarketFriday! Vila do Conde is a wonderful place to do a street market! It has everything! The history, the beauty and lots of people to make this a successful market!

I just love the variety that is offered here!

First of all, the cobblestoned streets are so very enchanting. I love towns that keep their historical pieces in place. It looks like a place I would love to meander through, even without the market. However, the market is full of wonderful treats! Oh, the jam and cheese are right up my alley! Fig-leaf Gourd? Is that really a jam?? I have never heard of it in my life, but, it sure sounds interesting! I have actually never had pumpkin jam either. I must need to try to make that. That sounds like another winner. Cheese?? Yes, please!

Everything is about as fresh as it gets, especially the poor yellow little fellows. I think we should outlaw Duck Rice, just for this post!

I want to thank you for taking us to a most wonderful market and giving us a wonderful #MarketFriday! It is always a pleasure to see you posting in the challenge!

Please leave the link to your post here in the comment section, so it can easily be found by others. (and me!!) They will all be in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you! ❤

Ahahah. Fig-leaf Gourd. I had to look it up in the dictionary. What a complicated name! We just call it Chila. Much simpler.

You really have to try it. The jams made with are Chila are so good you won't be able to control yourself. But my favorites are the Tomato and the Pumpkin Jam.

I'm glad you enjoyed my entry. Thanks for your awesome comment, @dswigle.

By the way, I left my link in your post but I see how you missed it. You have so many entries! Wow! 😱

My humble apologies! I did miss it!

Tomato jam? Do tell? Now you have me looking for a recipe! Thank you!! Have a good weekend!

Yeah, my mother and grandmother used to make it 😊
As far as I remember only 3 ingredients were needed: Tomatoes, Sugar and Water. But I might be mistaken. I was very young and don't remember it that well.
