The Grow Pot with Earthworms

Growing in soil is a blessing and earthworms called Eisenia Hortensis will make it even better. Only these worms can take low and high temperatures.

Normally you would throw away old soil but the worms love these dead roots.

Once plant matter starts to rot the worms will start eating. They are eating 24/7 and can live in temperatures up to 30° Celsius (86° Fahrenheit).

The temperature in the moist soil of a 90 liter (24 Gallon) Pot is a around 3° under the room temperature.

The worms will produce good fertilizer and many babies over a 3 month period.

Once the flowers are ripe you cut them and put new seedlings or cuttlings in the soil.

Only plant matter which is under soil and moist will rot so the stems should be cut and covered.

Make sure that the soil never dries out and read about what your little workers need to be happy.

One worm eats around 0.5 grams of roots a day. For a 90 liter pot you will need around 1000 worms.

• Don't use pots smaller than 90 L (24 Gallon)
• Not too much water (worms will drown)
• A watching eye
• Don't add fertilizer
• Check if they have enough space
• Don't water with a pH lower than 7

After the second run, put the pot aside and cover it with cardboard.

In 3 months everything will be eaten and you can use the worms and castings for new pots.
