[대인 관계란 메아리와 같다]

한 어린 소년이 어머니로부터 꾸중을 듣고 화가 나서 "엄마 미워!" 하고 소리 지르고는 어머니가 야단을 칠까 봐 겁이 나서 산으로 도망을 갔다.

산에서도 화가 안 풀린 소년은 다시 소리를 질렀다. "난 엄마가 미워!" 그 때 놀랍게도 "난 네가 미워!" 하는 소리가 들리는 게 아닌가? 놀란 소년은 당장 집으로 달려와 어머니께 그 산에는 자기를 미워하는 나쁜 소년이 있다고 말했다.

그 소리를 들은 어머니는 아들을 데리고 산으로 왔다. 그리고 이렇게 소리치라고 말했다. "나는 너를 사랑한다! 나는 너를 사랑한다!" 그러자 산에는 이런 소리가 들려왔다. "나는 너를 사랑한다."

인생은 메아리와 같다. 즉 대인 관계는 메아리 같은 것이다. 우리는 심은 대로 거두게 된다. 당신이 무엇을 하든, 어떤 일에 종사하든 대인 관계는 당신이 한 만큼 대우 받게 되는 것이 철칙이다.
