Is Magick Dangerous?
Throughout history people would fear magick claiming that it was capable of only horrendous damage. So they burned and hanged anyone who they believed to be using the dark magick.
The fear of magick originated during the protestant reformation and even earlier during the crusades. These time periods made everyone paranoid and fearful leading them to assume magick was being used against people. People were hasty when it came to dealing with accused witches or warlocks. These incidents only increased the anxiety people had regarding magick. People would call all magick dark magick and connect it's power with Satan. Thus it is no wonder why hundreds became persecuted and magick would be considered evil in the mass consciousness even to this day.

However, like all things in life, you give magic power when you believe it can harm you. Magic is only as powerful as you make it out to be. If you believe magick is dangerous then of course magick will start hurting you. But, when you believe that magick can be both positive and negative and that dark magic can not harm you (as I do) a world of infinite possibilities opens up.

Essentially, I don't believe magick is dangerous but it could be used in ways that are harmful and psychologically damaging to the user. I think it would be best for people to use it after careful reflection and think seriously before casting curses and hexes. As they say, "Choose your battles wisely."
