The wonderful world of insects - Ladybug's life cycle
Hello, friends!
Are you ready to step into the wonderful world of insects, again? Some time ago I started the "The Wonderful World of Insects" project. Today I want to show you the life cycle of the Ladybug as I have seen it through the camera lens. As usually I do not write these post as an insects specialist(I'am not). I write this post as a photographer. I am just an observer of nature through the camera lens.
So let's begin to see how the ladybug reaches the adult stage.

The life cycle of Ladybug not last for more than one year. In winter, adult specimens hibernate in dry places. When the weather gets hot, they wake up and start flying in search of aphids.
After mating...

..the female lays on the underside of a leaf, near a good reserve of aphids, a bunch of tiny yellow eggs.

From each egg appears six-legged larvae that looks more like a small alligator.

Since she eats aphids, the larva grows shortly.

When the larvae reach full size, they attach to a leaf by their tail, and a pupa is formed.

Within a week or two, the pupa becomes an adult ladybug.

Remember that you can keep the pests away from the garden, without resorting to pesticides, with only a few of these cuddly insects.

All the photos belong to me, and I managed to take them in two years. The hardest was to find the place where eggs were placed.
I hope you enjoyed discovering Ladybug's life cycle.

Great shots, Ileana!
Wonderful photo essay as we watch the "stages of life." Thank you for sharing this part of their cycle with us.
I seem to never be able to capture little ladybugs. They seem to know when I am coming and fly away!
Anyway, a wonderful post!
