How close are you to your parents?
My relationship with my parents varies, my father died when i was a little girl 5years old. But i had an excellent relationship,according to my mum i am a definitely the idea of a daddy's girl. my mum told me that when i was little i always ran to my dad to tell him my secrets or what happened in my day. I miss him so much...there are times i wish he is still alive so that i could tell him more things than i do when i was little because sometimes I feel like I may be punished for even liking someone else .Thank God for my mum who stands my us even when my dad was no more. although we do mostly everything together we have our ups and downs like every family. My mom knows everything that goes on in my life, she's like my best friend, she's my super woman, I relate to her really well.
Whenever I feel like I need to tell someone something I can always tell my mom. Me and my mom have that mother and daughter relationship where we make each other laughs and we have the same personality. I like being connected to my mom the way I am because I know a lot of people who aren't close to their patents, and they got into bad things cause they weren't disciplined as well as they could have been. I'm very blessed to have the mother I have I wouldn't switch her for anyone else even if I had the chance...thanks mom for everything, thanks for the love,care,understanding.. Thanks for making me become the best daughter you could ever ask for...I'm blessed to have you as my mother..and I promised to forever be the best daughter, best wife to my future hubby,best mother to my unborn kids.

I sooo love your transparency in this post. My father and I have always been close even though he has a new family and step kids. My mom and I fight like cats and dogs. We are truly oil and water and have different outlooks in life. My dad and I not only look alike but we have many personality traits that are similar. My mom is a very negative person and I am more positive. She looks at what’s wrong with something...I look at either accepting it or making it right. My dad and I both don’t like conflict, can be shy at times and stand up for what we believe. It’s amazing how different my relationships are with each of my parents.

Personally I've had the very best of both of sides, I'd always been close to both parents and before dad died two years ago yesterday I was his closest buddy, he told me things that couldn't tell any of his other kids, loved my personality and supported almost of my decisions.
Mom sometimes gets my other siblings jealous when she starts talking about me, how I've been her most loving child.
I was only 17 when she said that of her children I've been the one that has taken care of her the most. LooooooL, some of my siblings didn't take that lightly at all.
In all family cannot be replaced and it is in them that we make the best of memories.

Me and my sisters grew up with my mom because our family was dysfunctional.My dad left us for another woman but my mom was very strong for us. She raised the three of us without my dad and I really appreciate my mom because she did everything for us until now. Though me and my sisters are all married, she never fails to bring us together even for a simple lunch.She would cook for us and take care of our kids. And sometimes, she would bring me lunch to my work and give me what she bought from the market. I really appreciate my mom and I really love her so much.
