Slack Saturday | Video Games, Pizza, & Hoping for Steem AR/VR Apps!
Saturday: a day to take it slow and recoup some energy from the work week. Sometimes the older I get, the more life seems like a video game. You have to wait for certain stats like energy, speed, dexterity, etc. to regenerate.
People in the grocery store seem like NPCs, processing your purchases and giving you canned greetings/responses. Thankfully combat isn’t an everyday component to real life, though if there was loot drops like in games it might be worth it. Perhaps in the future with VR and mass use of metaverse type spaces along with crypto currencies that might be more of a reality. Imagine donning a headset and being transported to a world full of monsters to slay and a wild landscape to terraform and develop along with your friends.
Of course this wouldn’t have to be VR only, even though it would be the most immersive. With AR type phone apps like Pokémon GO, you could have questing type games with real crypto rewards!
Business owners could place objects around their store and people could scan them with their app, wait a predetermined amount of time to browse around or hang out and then get a reward. I believe the STEEM blockchain would be excellent for such an application, and would love to see it created.
I think it could create a ton of value and excitement about STEEM if properly implemented! Even more so if the business owners hosting the game started accepting SBD and STEEM for their products and services, maybe even discount for using the blockchains currencies.
Anyways, tonight I went to hang out with friends and we made pizzas to enjoy along with playing the old N64 that my friend has. I played a little bit of Zelda along with a few rounds of Star Wars Pod Racing. It’s been a long time since I’ve played an N64 and I was amazed at how primitive the graphics looked, but that’s what makes it so cool and special to play and relive the memories of childhood.
It just goes to show that you don’t need fancy realistic graphics to enjoy video games!
