What Are You Waiting For?steemCreated with Sketch.

Every time I turn around it seems that I am waiting for something.

Waiting is weird.

There is a lot of hurry up and wait in life.

Sometimes I have to rush to get somewhere, like the doctor’s office, and then wait…

Then there are times in life where I am waiting for something bigger.

Waiting to hear back about an interview.

Waiting for a class to finish.

Waiting for summer.

Waiting for Christmas.

Waiting for the weekend.

Waiting for the next ICO.

Waiting for my wife to get home.

Waiting for my garden to grow.

Waiting for the sports game to start.

Waiting for an idea to write about.

Sometimes the anticipation is great!

Other times the seconds feel like hours.

The day drags on.

The desired outcome is so far out of reach.

In today’s world where financial transactions can happen in 3 seconds, media is available with a few quick clicks, and there is no shortage of other instant communications, waiting can seem like the worst possible thing.

But is there good in waiting?

Waiting gives time for reflection.

Waiting gives time for second thoughts and second chances.

Waiting gives time for making mistakes and making corrections.

Waiting gives time to make a change.

Without waiting, maybe things would be done and over and forgotten without a second thought.

We could rush through our lives and arrive at the end.

What of it then?

What good was it to get there faster? To get there first?

What is the point of always doing things as fast as possible?

Maybe we should all take more time to slow down and appreciate the wait.

Or at least I hope I can.

So what are you waiting for?

Stay tuned.
Stay interesting.
Stay Strange.

Great post, we all hate waiting. I am the worst, I cannot stand waiting yet am always making people wait on me. But really what is it that we are in such a rush to get to? And the more we wait the more it seems like life is passing us by? The whole notion that time flies when you're busy or doing something you love makes me think in scientific terms, I mean it seems that if you move in a beat with time then time somehow stops for you...?

Looks like you get what I was going for!

Thanks for dropping by and we will all wait on together!

It's calculated that the average person waits 6 to 8 years in their entire life.

6 - 8 years! I have a feeling that if we could drastically lower that number we could improve on the quality of our lives.

Wow!

I had no idea, thanks for that info!

Yes, less time waiting would be nice, especially less time waiting in traffic!

SOMETIMES waiting can open up the darkness in our minds too! Which can be scary. Waiting can also instill patience... well, for some people... haha

Yes waiting around for some thing like results or news can allow all sorts of anxiety and fear to form.

Or yeah simple impatience that can quickly turn to anger or irritation.

Waiting is a tricky little devil!

Waiting...I absolutely hate waiting...but I also permanently feel rushed. Rushing is worse than waiting...lol

Yes I agree!

I would much rather wait than rush.

The real trick is finding the balance of how to minimize both to maximize life satisfaction!
