Mr. Toshiro Kanamori is a unique teacher with a sincere desire to connect with his students and create an environment that teaches each student important life lessons in happiness, compassion, teamwork, community, honesty, openness, coping, bullying and death.
In Mr Kanamori’s school of life - the goal is to learn how to live a happy life and care for others - anything else is a bonus!
Mr Kanamori asks each student to put their deepest feelings down on paper and then asks them to read their letter (thereby exposing their feelings) to their classmates. In sharing their inner-feelings with their classmates the children learn many lessons and begin to care for each other in a deeper and more meaningful way than they ever have before.
After reading their letter out in class the students spirit rises as their story resonates and touches the hearts and minds of their fellow students - everyone student learns a lesson from the others letters, and so will you!
You will see the students free themselves of the unnecessary burdens that bottling up ones emotions invariably brings. Watch the students read their letters, and open up their vulnerable little hearts in a deeply moving display of honesty and courage that all of us can learn lessons from.

I'm so in love with this documentary. It made me want to be a teacher. There is so much value in just learning about our feelings and this teacher had a beautiful approach to teaching empathy. Something we're getting worse at due to growing online culture.
There are few more worthwhile roles in life than being a great teacher of children.
If that your passion, I would encourage you - at the very least to seriously consider doing it - and doing it well!
I would also investigate how much freedom you have in the jurisdiction that you intend to teach in and see if my expectations were achievable.
