The first question you might ask yourself is, why would somebody tell me not to eat fruits? They’re all healthy. Well, the thing is, while we think that all the healthy things that we are eating are healthy in reality, we might be wrong.

There is no doubt that there are numerous benefits of eating fruits, and there are many fruits that are very healthy for us, such as apples, pineapples, avocados, grapefruit, watermelons, blueberries, kiwi, and lemons. However, there are certain fruits that we shouldn’t eat or should only eat occasionally or in moderation.
The reasons behind this differ for each fruit. Therefore, here are some of the fruits that you shouldn’t eat along with the reasons for not eating them.

  • Grapes
    Grapes can be really easy to snack, and you might end up eating many bunches of it without noticing. They keep you wanting for more every time you’re done with a grape. Well, new discoveries show that eating grapes is probably not as healthy as we think it is. Despite being so yummy and juicy, grapes obviously have a lot of sugar content and high calories in it. This is the reason it can spike up our blood sugar levels and also cause carbohydrate overload in our body. Further to this, it can also cause allergies for many people and give rise to stomach issues. So, watch out before you empty another bowl of grapes while watching TV.
  • Lychee
    This one might hit you as a surprise because the side effects of lychee can be quite intense. According to a strange incidence of children’s death in a town of India, it was discovered that lychee was the cause of those deaths. Now we wouldn’t have thought that fruits can also kill us, right? The symptoms caused by the consumption of lychee included unconsciousness and seizures, and around half of these cases would result in death. Lychee, especially the ones that are not completely ripe, contains a toxin which can halt the synthesis of glucose in our body. Due to this, our body would simply get deprived of the energy source and the victims may die. However, if you really love the fruit, try to avoid it on empty stomach and don’t eat a lot. Also, make sure that it is completely ripened.
  • Cranberries
    Cranberry was thought to have many benefits to health, especially in case of urinary tract health. However, researchers were able to find that this isn’t quite true. It was found that more consumption of cranberries was associated with negative health impacts instead of positive, such as the formation of kidney stones, calcium oxalate stones, excessive calories and fat, and high sugar levels.
  • Mangoes
    Who doesn’t love mangoes? They are the sweetest an the yummiest of all fruits. However, this fruit is loaded with high sugar and a lot of calories. A single normal-sized mango can include more than 100 calories and 25 grams of sugar in it. If you are serious about managing your weight as well as your health, you might want to keep a limit on those mangoes. Wow, that rhymes.
  • Coconut
    While this fruit is wished to be very healthy, it isn’t as healthy as we would want it to be. It will not be wrong to call this fruit as the fattiest fruit out there. That is one reason we enjoy coconut oil so much. Although we may consider this fat as healthy fats, taking these additional fats would certainly not be healthy. A single cup of coconut can contain around 300 calories, almost all of which are derived from fats.
  • Orange
    Okay, now you might probably start doubting the legitimacy of this writing. How in the world could orange be an unhealthy fruit? It’s all over the place. The last commercial we saw was probably of an orange juice and how it’s fresh and healthy for us. As much as I would love to agree, I cannot. The medical center at the Rochester University was able to discover that the acid content in the oranges is very high. It will not only be wrong for our health to some extent, it will also damage the enamel of our teeth. And these side effects are especially enhanced if you’re going for those packed orange juices, as they are mostly chemicals, synthetic acids and added flavors instead of real fruit juice. For the little about of real orange juice proportion that it may have, they would probably add preservatives in it which was also not a good thing to drink if you’re looking for health.

So today, I’m sure we have learned that all that glitters is not gold. Or you could say that all that’s fruit is not healthy. But I love fruits!

althought fruits are selectively bred just like dogs. It can't be good for you.
