It's never too late to follow your dreams - 5 real world examples !

in #life7 years ago

I've often heard people saying how they want to pursue a different career or begin studying something new, but are stopped as they believe they are too old to succeed.

Here are 5 real world examples of why age is just a number and we should never give up on our dreams, no matter what they may be.

Stan Lee

Stan Lee had to wait until he was 39 before he became a millionaire. His career took off when he created The Fantastic Four comic books and then later created the Marvel Universe.

The recent success of the Marvel films has only enhanced his fortune further.

Samuel L Jackson

Everybody knows who Samuel L Jackson is today, as he has appeared in a great deal of successful movies. But he never got his break until the age of 43, when he was cast in Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever.

After this he became a house hold name, appearing in countless blockbusters.

Henry Ford

Henry Ford created the revolutionary Model T automobile in 1908, which was the worlds first "affordable" car.

He went on to be worth roughly £154 billion in todays money by time he passed away in 1947.

A little known fact was Ford had to wait until he was 45 in order to make his name.

Colonel Sanders

Colonel Sanders chicken business only became famous when he began to franchise KFC. In 1964 he sold the franchise for $2 million.

When he passed away he was estimated to be worth $3.5 million. He had to wait until he was 66 before he began to see the success of his hard work.

Barack Obama

Everyone knows Barack Obama as President of The United States of America, but it was his writing career that earned him his largest pay day.

He re-published his book entitled "Dreams From my Father" when he was 43 , after he began his journey into politics.

It was the success of this book that earned him his first million. He has gone on to earn $4.6 million off the back of his writing career (the publicity of being president obviously helped with the second half of his books earnings )

I hope this has provided some inspiration to anyone who was concerned about trying new things as they get older.

Thanks for listening

My friend,

I'm sixty six, and still waiting... ;)

But I do continue to try new things, and hope for the best.
