Company offers to microchip it's staff !
It is something that has been talked about for a very long time over the internet. The question of would you allow someone to implant you with a microchip, which would be used to identify you. Enabling you to carry out credit card transactions and many other activities.
Now a company called Three Square Market (32M) has offered their employees the chance to have a radio frequency identification device (RFID) implanted into their hand. The chip is about the size of a grain of rice and would allow employees to open doors, much like a key fob, order food from the companies micro market, log into their computer and use the photocopy machine.
Three Square Marke states that although this is a voluntary scheme it anticipates around 50 employees will take them up on the offer.
The chip will cost around $300 which they will pay for on behalf of their staff. The scheme is due to start on August 1st, 2017
What is RFID?
Radio-frequency identification (RFID) uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information. Passive tags collect energy from a nearby RFID reader's interrogating radio waves. Active tags have a local power source such as a battery and may operate at hundreds of meters from the RFID reader. Unlike a barcode, the tag need not be within the line of sight of the reader, so it may be embedded in the tracked object. RFID is one method for Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC)
32M CEO, Todd Westby said:
"We foresee the use of RFID technology to drive everything from making purchases in our office break room market, opening doors, use of copy machines, logging into our office computers, unlocking phones, sharing business cards, storing medical/health information, and used as payment at other RFID terminals. Eventually, this technology will become standardized allowing you to use this as your passport, public transit, all purchasing opportunities, etc."

This is the beginning of a cashless society where every human being is microchipped at birth. I work for a private tech company that does business with The Smartrac Group - another RFID maker. A few years ago IBM gave a talk, I think the title was "The Next 100 Years" in which their representative prophesied a future where all humans had chip implants. This wouldn't be a problem in a perfect society but we Steemians know society is anything but perfect. I guess anyone without the chip will not be able to buy or sell a.k.a. die.
The fact people will take this voluntary is what worries me.
