Now I never thought I would read a post of yours defending the rights of sharks Galen, albiet indirectly.
We cull kangaroos because they are pests. We cull rabbits because they are pests. We cull wild horses because they are pests. Sharks and crocodiles are man-eating pests - yet they are protected... wtf?
At the end of the day - a shark is a fish. I couldn't care less if a goldfish dies in a tank and I have similar feelings for sharks.
Incidentally - if someone dies at sea and the body is not recovered - assumed drowning. I wonder how the stats would look if - assumed shark attack!
