Know that you're not alone. Many people are struggling to get started on SteemIt. But I can do it, and you can do it too!
I don't have a lot of time to post today, so this will only be a short one.
I've been reading countless stories of people who are thinking about leaving SteemIt, because it's not how they had imagined it to be.
It's true. Before you sign up, there's no one that tells you that getting somewhere on SteemIt requires hard work, dedication and patience. But it does!
I don't have enough time to go deeper into the matter, but I still wanted to give you a little something to hold on to...

Same thing happened with Instagram. People thought they could travel for free as long as they posted photos to their Insta account. Nope.
Like any new place you have to start from the ground up. So people have an apparent advantage when they start out (like, having nice photos), but you don't see all the hard work that went on for YEARS before even joining Steemit.
You can't just give up because you're not getting rich though. There is still good content on here to enjoy and curate. It's all about money, but it's not all about the money.

I can understand the frustration of newbies, though. With 250k new posts every day, it is hard to get noticed.
And they're lured to SteemIt with the promise to earn money... which isn't happening...
It took me 2 months to realize that SteemIt is actually an amazing community, which is worth so much more than the money

I think a lot of people get the misconception of "Hey, I can get rich on this website quickly" and turns out, no, no you can't.
My motivation is to help others make money lol. Particularly new homesteaders who live offgrid away from where there are jobs, people helping others and people who live in country's were USD is worth a lot.
That's not my goal at all, any money made off the platform is nice, but it's not the world to me, I can personally live without it. For me it's just a place where I can post what's on my mind without having to worry about hosting costs so much and don't have to worry about someone getting bent out of shape and causing me to lose my blog.
I've had Christians attack my old sites due to transhumanism being of the devil somehow. I've had Feminists attack me left and right for being a gay deaf guy that doesn't tow the feminist narrative. And I've had everything in between. I can't begin to tell you how many YouTube channels I've lost due to massive false flagging campaigns.
Can't censor me here, that's what I love, and I'm not particularly saying anything controversial. =\
I love that too! People are much nicer here, I'd never be able to post what I do here on facebook without anxiety. I'm sorry to hear you've struggled with those things, whilst I don't like transhumanism much I do find myself friends with lots of gays. I think people should mind their own business and focus their angst towards people who are making this world cruel, not participate in it sigh. I'm glad you've found a safe place within Steemit as I have. <3
Transhumanism isn't for everyone and personally wouldn't force that on anyone. But yes, Minds and Steemit have been very nice to me, I love it here and on Minds. I do tend to like Minds a touch more though on account that I don't have to worry about bandwidth for example. :p

Indeed! Steemit is not a quick rich scheme, I also thought it myself when I was new in this platform, when SBD nearly went to a $. Now that it's so much higher I see a lot but never stayed. It's good to have money though, it's a plus. But the more important things we can find here is that we get to interact with people from different countries, cultures and walks of life randomly. Nearly not Facebook nor Instagram can do.
We all come for the money, but stay for the community ;0)
