HOLI: A Festival of Love, Colors and Joy 🍁🤓 | Are You Ready for this Year?

I am Hindu from India and I love celebrating Holi as other Indians do.

Holi is one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism which brings together every member of the community under one roof of Joy and Happiness. It is celebrated by Kid, Young and Old people of society.

Starting from "Holika Dahan" on the previous night of Holi is a sign of "Good over Evil". There is a story of demon king "Hiranyakashipu" and his son "Prahlada".

Hiranyakashipu didn't like his son Prahlada because he is a follower of Lord Vishnu so he asked her Demoness Sister "Holika" (she had a special cloak that prevented her from harm by Fire) to sit on fire with Prahlada.

By tricking the boy Prahlada to sit on her lap, they set the fire but after that, her cloak flew away from her and protected Prahlada which result into "Holika Dahan" which means "Death of Holika".

At the time of burning, Holika asked for forgiveness from Prahlada...

... and by forgiving her he said - you would be immortal and every year people will celebrate "Holi" as a festival of colour love and joy.

After celebrating "Holika Dahan" previous Night, We sleep in excitement for next day celebration 😂

In Morning we search for oldest clothes to wear because ultimately we won't find that cloth again 😂

We rub sunflower oil on our "full body" to get protected from any colour...

...and Bang!!! We are Ready! to celebrate our first round of day where we used to play with watercolours and abeer(organic dried powder colour)

In this time of playing we have a special drink named "Thandai" which is made up of milk, dried nuts and most important element "marijuana" 😍 with lots of love

"Thandai" actually boosts up the actual joy of celebration.

As You could see the faces, body and clothes of everyone 😂

That's how we celebrated Holi but it is celebrated by different way in different parts of India but the main factor is common which is "Love" "Colour" and "Joy" ✌

After Round 1 we all move to our home to get clean up and ready for Round 2 🖖

In evening our Round 2 starts, where everyone wears white "Kurta" and "Pajama" and visits everyone's home to play with "abeer" and eat some delicious foods like "Puaa" (Sweet Pancake), Dahi Wada, Non-Veg Dishes and many more.

First when we visit we put "abeer" on seniors feet for their good wishes and then we put abeer to cheeks and faces to our mates and juniors to show our love 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧
