Why I Use Steemit!

in #life8 years ago

I am always looking for ways to earn extra income, not because I'm greedy, but because I don't have anything at all. I never had a good job, the most I ever got paid was $700/wk and that was 60 hours a week. Life has been hard, trying to support a wife and two children on a single income while at the same time needing flexibility.

See the entire issue is the fact my wife cannot work and we can only afford one vehicle, and even so she would need help. My son is severely autistic and non-verbal, we love him so much but this means we have to give a lot more time and effort in the simplest task. It is all worth it because the smile lights up our lives, and our daughter is amazing too, she loves her older brother so much even if he can't speak to her they seem to communicate in their own way. He used to be afraid of her and is only recently warming up to her, I think her voice as a baby was just too overwhelming.

What does this have to do with steemit? Well this whole situation puts a lot of pressure on me to make enough money to care for him and my family as well as provide him all the therapy and opportunities I can during my life, and after my life make sure he is taken after and not end up under the care of the government. SO I must hustle every opportunity, and this is a great one! I've had many blogs, I write them for fun and a little extra cash, never paid off. I hope I can contribute a lot to the community and learn to write much better content as well as earn for my family. Most of my posts will not be about this subject though im sure some will. The picture is my son Abraham (we call him Abe or Ibraheem though), he is 6 years old today! He is starting to communicate a little though not through words. He is a very happy and loving boy who really wants to talk to us but has a hard time do to sensory issues. He started to say words like normal and even count at age 2 but slowly lost the ability. He can sometimes say words or sign and can use apps or picture books to communicate. At school he uses something called a gotalk2 with his teachers. He is in a kindergarten class for kids with autism who cannot integrate into normal classrooms. Sadly potty training is still at basically zero which is getting harder and harder to find diapers that fit him.. the size 7 is the biggest i ever seen without going to adult. If anyone has a source of inexpensive diapers or potty training resources for autistic children please comment!

Oh my, Abraham is such a beautiful child! I might mistake him for a girl, he's so pretty lol. Lucky they have a special class for him. Never even heard of that in the past. That's really a step forward. I hope it helps.

Wow, I applaud your passion and determination to take care of your family. I hope the very best for you. Good parents are as valuable as gold in todays society.
