Finding Success in Failure, or Just More Failure [SuperPost #1]

in #life6 years ago

Hello everyone!

I would consider myself on the track to being successful (in transition), but I'm currently a failure. I would say I'm a failure in my own standards. I haven't reached the business goals I have wanted, nor have I attained the monetary goals either. I'm just the average ignorant citizen of the world fighting his way through this capitalist system we currently live in.

Let me tell you something... it's a secret... a BIGLY secret... so secret that I'd die telling you it, but I'll tell you anyway!

I'll tell my secret in story form, and start back in 2007... In 2007, I used to think this college game in United States was just a scam (and I still do, but more on that another time). To take out a guaranteed loan for POTENTIAL to make more money, where it should be known that most people won't be able to do that.

So, what did I do? I went to freaking college. Why? I wanted to get out of the home I was in. That's as far as I'll go on my less than stellar family life right now, but before that I sold candy in high school (against school rules, apparently) and ate away my profits, literally.

I wasn't taught financial self-control and I didn't have any natural self-control, even though I would have made 80+ per day in profits (I did, but then had to pay off random things).

Fast forward this bad habit to college, where I had a "double" full ride somehow and took out loans and I received refund checks, and then blew it on some stupid woman I liked at the time and friends that were all around me for the money. I was a stupid fucking idiot, I know.

Fat forward to me being homeless and in the college town sleeping on desks in the college of Engineering in Carbondale, as us people without homes do, and I still had my goal of running a business, a successful one. Here I was, with the audacity to want success after being stupid with money. And I mean really fucking stupid.

I mean, I learned how to hold on to nearly every penny after that, but the mistakes I made in 2008 - 2011 cost me even till today.

Anyway, here's the hot take so I won't bore you with the things I did to not be homeless, to eat, and to just get to the next level.... I was freaking broke and somehow started to work at this one start-up tech company that eventually ran out of money and didn't pay me anymore just when I thought I wasn't broke and on success.

Here's the story of my life:

Step 1) Have the idiotic audacity to think the American "dream" is real and hope for success

Step 2) Either full-out go toward that, balls to the fucking wall, or do multiple things at once in shot-gun fashion

Step 3) Get some success to pull me out of the "kiddy" job(s) I work at, whether I stay there or not

Step 4) Feel the wrath of Zeus, Allah, Jesus, the Devil and their cousins and get OWNED through some freak accident and start to fail

Step 5) Struggle to keep my head above water

Yep... I mean the most successful thing I've done was mentor 2 people to become millionaires and not get a penny for it, or when I asked them to assist me in some advice like I gave them I was told "I did it on my own. You were simply there to as motivation." So yeah, the ole, "Go fucking fuck yourself harder than you can imagine" treatment.

Here are just a FEW of my endeavors:

  1. Ghostwriting (moderate success, but most people don't want to pay much at all)

  2. Editing (same as above)

  3. Resume writing / cover letter / career coaching (longest running and most successful thing I've done other than crypto, but crypto has only been recent so I'm holding my breath)

  4. Work in a daycare (never again)

  5. Working at some autoparts place (I had to walk really, really far once they just relocated me and cut my hours. Yeah, that was reaaaaaaaaaal nice ;) so many hours in below zero weather. I think about 3 or more if memory serves me correctly))

  6. Blah blah blah...

My current goals:

  1. To establish a readership for a few books I am working on that I intend to make some into comics. Those comics I hope will compete with other characters as the strongest in all of fiction, or I could fail miserably, even more than one of my characters trapped in nothing but whiteness and being fed rat food failed to escape

  2. To maybe start my own trending tag called "superpost" on this here site called Steemit so that I can have something linked to me. Basically, a "superpost" is just a random assortment of shit thoughts that have some theme related to either life, my writing or something you all want to see in the comments below

  3. Get rich and live easy after taking on the whole entire political establishment, but realistically I'd get sniped before that happens, so I'm probably not going to do that

If any of this appealed to you and you like my shit thoughts of an average citizen of the world, just follow me, throw a like, and comment below. Or don't, because I don't need success. Nope... Not at all.... 0_o
