Without government, would you be a bad person?

Is government really the only thing stopping you from being a rapist, murderer, or thief?
The reason most people do not murder, rape, assault or steal from others is not because government says so, it is because universal intelligence has implanted in human beings a conscience, which enables them to understand the difference between right and wrong and to model their behaviour accordingly.
If you think that the majority of people would turn into violent beasts without the government in place to enforce the 'law,' I'm sorry to say that you have been brainwashed and do not understand the spiritual laws that govern the consequences of our behavior. You do not understand that we are all connected on a spiritual level, and that by harming others we only end up harming ourselves.
Without a government in place, human beings would naturally gravitate towards The Golden Rule and treat other people the way they would want to be treated, or rather, not treat others the way they wouldn't want to be treated. That's how the vast majority of people already behave and treat each other, and it has nothing to do with the transitory political whims of crooks inside the houses of parliament or the halls of congress.
I am sure those work in / with Gov will make some words that mean very bad for people living with no Gov. Wait they already did that.
I think it likely that without the interference of government we would be better people. I believe that much of man's inhumanity to man is a result of us ignoring our own moral compass in order to carry out the orders of our superiors.

I think a lot of people wouldn't act any differently if we didn't have gov't. That being said, a few bad apples spoils the bunch.
I am a bad person with an ok soul and an ass that wont quit.
The existence of an overlord shouldn't effect that. 😋

I don't hold that we are good people by nature, even though we recognize the difference between good and evil. That having been said, the lion's share of the most far-reaching incidents of evil in this world is perpetuated by those in government. Take away the state, and we still have society to hold individuals accountable. It's not going to be The Purge out there if people take responsibility for their own defense and the state evaporates.
