Shopping in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is in spotlight this week due to high profile visitors to the city. Ivanka Trump is in Hyderabad this week for Global Entrepreneurs Summit. PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Hyderabad's first Metro Rail Network. I won't be covering about the event instead I want to share about places for shopping in Hyderabad and what to buy when you are in Hyderabad.
Shopping experience is truly unevitable when you travelling to a famous place. Be it Dubai or Singapore, shopping is a 'must' try experience. It is applicable for Hyderabad too.
Hyderabad is one of the capital cities in South India. Hyderabad is rich in its culture and history. Hyderabad is well known for Nawabs, Food, Palaces and many more stuffs. Street shopping experience is amazing, you can find many such markets in Hyderabad. Bargaining is a 'skill', you must be able to analyze the item and understand its worth, then get a good deal out of it. It may sound difficult but it is simple.
Here is the list of shopping places in Hyderabad. These are the top 8 places(according to me) to shop in Hyderabad, for experiencing street shopping.
Laad Bazaar
This is very near Charminar and Makkah Masjid. This is the street adjacent to Charminar. Laad bazaar is well known for bangles shops. There are plenty of options for bangles in different designs. There are smaller bylanes as well, make sure to check in as many shops to get best deal on bangles. Bangles are available in different sizes and designs, the price also varies based on the item. There are many colourful shops in Laad Bazaar.
Apart from bangles, there are many perfume shops. Jewellery, souvenir and textiles shops are also available in Laad Bazaar.
Abids
It is one of the major commercial hubs in Hyderabad. There are many textiles shops. Different variety of Sarees are available in this place. Abids is centrally located and easily accessible by most part of the city. This places is a 'must visit', if you are planning to buy sarees and clothes. Abids also houses many resturants including KFC, McDonalds etc.
Perfume markets
As the name explains, this is a paradise for perfume lovers. There are many perfume shops. The perfumes vary from jasmine to sandal and many more fragrances. Along with perfumes there are shops which sell incense sticks. You can try different fragrances before buying one.
Koti
Koti is another famous commercial hub in Hyderabad. Koti is located not too far from Abids. Koti Sultan Bazaar is well known for women's clothing. There are many footwear shops as well. It used to be known as 'Residency bazaar', this is one of the oldest markets.
Nampally
Nampally is very well known for its annual 'Numaish exhibition' in January-February every year. One can find almost everything in this exhibition. Clothes, footwear, bangles, bags and wallets, jewellery, you name it and this market will have it. The pricing is also not too high, if you know how to bargain. There are some wholesale shops as well.
Begum Bazaar
Household products and decors, kitchen essentials, cosmetics and daily use items, toiletries and perfumes are on your shopping list ? ..then Begum Bazaar is the place to visit. Silver, gold, dry fruits etc are also sold here.
Moazzam Jahi Market
This is well known market for fruits and vegetables. This is another market which was commissioned in pre-independence era(1933-1935). There are many stalls and shops line up the market selling everything from fresh chicken and goat meat to perfume and dry fruits. This is still in good condition even after the growth of the nearby areas.
Shilparamam
Last but not the least, Shilparamam also known as Shilparamam crafts village is another spot where you can have wonderful shopping experience. This place has huts made typically in a rural manner that provide shoppers with the experience of how villagers work. The local products made in villages and the handicrafts are available for sale. Besides shopping experience, this place also has a small artificial lake where people can go for boating.

Hey yesterday only i was writing about lac bangles and today i found your post. I was reading about laad bazaar. Maniharon ka raasta in jaipur has a good bangle market dominated by lac.

did you buy any Pearls ?
Yes but not much and I wasn't sure of quality. I bought it in a jewellery store near Charminar. I'm sure that not all the stores will have real Pearl.
yea, thats why asked. Did they show you burning and rubbing the Pearl and all ?
Yep, almost every vendor does it. Some of them agree that it is not 100% pure.

I love hyderabad, the places which you mentioned are great place to shop and have the real hyderabadi food.
