First day of school of my new job!

WorkBlogTravelFuture

I didn't have the nightmare. I always have the nightmare. Before every new job, before every first day of school, or before the first day of traveling. The nightmare is always the same and it brings a level of comfort. In the dream I am running late, I get lost, I can't find my way, and there is an overwhelming feeling of anxiety. Then I wake up and I know that the worst has happened in my dream and all will be well. Not to say my first day didn't go well, it just didn't feel like the first day. It felt like a normal day at the office. Granted there was a ton of new process to learn, but it felt normal. My office is massive and a ton of people everywhere all the time.

I missed being in a sales environment

I realized I really do ask a lot of questions. Not sure my group leader loves them, but he confuses me. I've started to write down my questions and ask them in smaller doses. He seems to respond better this way. Other than that, my office is in a constant state of loudness. Mind you this was before the world cup started too.

It's loud, it's full of energy, and more often than not it's welcoming to all newcomers.

I've always wanted to be in a position like the one I am now. They give us a fancy title, but really I am a research assistant/specialist for the sales team. They give me accounts that aren't doing business with us and I dig deeper to see if they fit our mold.

Based on the information I give to our sales team they book meetings and work on bringing them on. All those years stalking researching finally being put to use. When I have several accounts the time fly by.

I have three BEAUTIFUL monitors and tabs for days. I put my headphones on and lose track of time.

What about blogging?

My company has strict rules about company network. Anything and everything created on their machines and their network are considered there's. Needless to say, I won't be writing much at work and forget about posting. They are a technology company so I am interested to see how open-minded some of the developers are to blockchain technology. All though I will probably be on Steemit less, I will be online a lot more. Which will be interesting to see how that affects the overall themes of my posting.

I keep dreaming about traveling.

So far, I really enjoy the work I do. I look forward to seeing where it will take me. Several members of our sales force are moving to Europe and I hope by next year I will be too. I'll be moving either way, but it will be nice to go overseas for a while. My coworkers are all very young and driven. All that to say, the first week went well. The research is tough at times, but the hardest part is finding a standing desk. I never realized how EXPENSIVE those could be. It's just the first week. I know it will get better from here. Of course, I'll keep you updated on my work adventures. I walked past this BEAUTIFUL six foot seven or so guy the other day. I am on a mission to "A" find him and "B" befriend him.

Wish me luck!

Glad your new job is off to a good start. Let's hope it stays fun.

If not, I’m moving in. Have they made progress building your apartment by the way?

Not a lot. It's Panama.

Congratulations! May the opportunities be bountiful and some amazing skillsets gained and sharpened. Good luck and meet some amazing people you got this!

Thanks my friend. Yesterday, a coworker asked if I liked my internship and thought my name was Kathryn. Now that he knows I’m full time and my name is Kubby, the worst is over. 😂

hehe you beat out some of those summer interns to land a full time that even better :)

Sounds like things are potentially very interesting for you in the near future.

If you can't post on steemit on company time, you can certainly stalk handsome (beautiful?) men.

Now when you say stalk, you don’t think they’ll mind do you?

It all depends on what you plan to do once you catch them....

Good luck with the new Job Kubbz! Kudossssssssss

Glad you're settling in so well, Kubby xx

Thanks matt!! 🤗

Super interesting.

I love the excitement and uncertainty that 'first day' brings. On those days, I wake up early and prepare on time. LOL

Working in a new environment should not be daunting especially if you know what you are doing, but mean co workers or supervisors could turn that into another story.

I know you would travel!!! How is your savings plan coming along?

The savings plan is going great the price of crypto on the other hand not so great. Thanks for stopping by :)

All the best to you in your new role.

Standing desks can be expensive, but smaller versions are also avail for under USD 200. Got one even here in Panamá for my office for $189.00

Europe is going to the dogs faster than milk goes bad in blistering heat: an increasingly tyrannical flood of PC laws and slavery taxes steals smiles of most people's faces. It's bad. I am glad I am no longer there.

I still cannot believe you were in Europe especially for as long as you were. Glad to know your in a much safer place now.

I’m sure I’ll find a standing soon. Maybe I’ll even luck out and get one of those bike desk lol.

What an interesting post friend, I have laughed a lot with your ideas

Thanks for laughing! Glad to know I put a smile on your face
