Want to learn how to do it? I'm going to write an assortment of articles that go into detail about how you can build up some passive income! @walkerlv Gave me the idea, in my last post. When You Are Confident You Can Do It, You WILL!

Today I'm going to talk about writing.

What kinds of writing

This applies to fiction, Nonfiction or writing. I have the most experience with Nonfiction. But this article will apply to those who also write poetry or stories.

Deciding WHERE To write

Of course, you can put your content on Steemit to earn a quick buck. But once you get paid out, Some of that content won't make money again. I'm not saying you shouldn't post on Steemit. But writing a book can get you a passive income source.

Benefits of posting on steemit AND Writing a book.

  • You can direct your readers to Steemit, Get them to join your email list and keep them engaged. WHILE making extra money.

  • You can Test ideas on steemit and get suggestions from this wonderful community.

  • If you only are going to write shorter things, Then Steemit might be a better option.

Benefits of writing a book

Many passive income sources involve building what I call assets. They could be books, Drawing, etc. They are your creations, and you own the rights to them. You can use those things to make money over and over again.
A book is an asset. It will sell forever. You just have to do the marketing for it.
Passive income streams add up. At first, you may only have 10 or so dollars coming into your bank account each month. But you can gradually build it up to hundreds if not, Thousands of dollars. To the point, you can pay your bills with almost no effort at all.

What Kind of content Do I Need?

Well, it needs to be good enough for people to want to read it.
You can even hire someone to write it for you.

  • You want to get your book on Amazon. It's the biggest eCommerce site in the world, if you aren't on Amazon, you probably won't get the sales that you want.

  • You can do nonfiction or fiction. Think about the niche you want to be in, While you can mix it up if you want. Typically you want to stay in the same niche, That way people will become return customers and the amount of money your making will grow! You also can't build email lists with 20 different niches. That would be chaotic and confusing. Plus spreading yourself too thin would make it impossible to compete with your competitors.

Where Do I start

Easy, Start writing.
Don't worry about mistakes you can get a proofreader later.

Then eventually you'll need to set up an account on Amazons Kindle book website.

If you aren't a good writer, don't worry there are tons of ways you can make money easily online. I will write about those later.

Great post, I have a lot of unread articles on my website. Am not the kind of person that always like writing so I sometime have to hire freelancers on different freelancing site to write for me. So if any of you here want to be able to make passive income through writing, and you are are like me, you can also try hiring freelancers to write for you. @kaylinart said she's gonna write a post about that and I know it's gonna be stunning.

I agree hehehe :) Thank you! I love being able to hire freelancers for stuff. Sometimes to help me make shirts.

Great post, thank you.
I had to laugh at your Taco shirt. I couldn't read the "bout" so clicked on it thru to your Amazon link to read it. The laugh had to do with me having to call my wife over and asking her "What does this t-shirt mean, the "bout" specifically?"
Taco bout awesome, ah talk about awesome. Lightbulb on. The funny part is that I'm usually the one to get the personalized license plates, you know things like, a white Volkswagen Rabbit, with the plate IML8. Needless to say my wife is beyond joy with the fact that she got it before I did.

WOW Thats awesome ehehhe
Thank you :) Hahhahhaa! It's funny you didn't catch it originally hehe.

I've been analyzing it and for some reason, I was thinking bout = a round in boxing and trying to make that connection. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

talk about delivering ;) thank @kaylinart for writing this post. i will definitely be pondering some of its points

Thank you heheh :)

When you said passive income I was thinking you're talking about building a website or an app.

But it was something entirely different which I didn't even think about before.

Thanks for the info. Totally liked it.
Have a great day ahead. Steem on!

People always talk about passive income, but very few mention writing a book and then having that as an income stream. I was talking with one of my coworkers about it the other and how good of an idea it would be! This solidifies it for sure!

Exactly! There are a lot of weird passive income sources. I feel like most people have this perception that you have to have a lot of money in something to get passive income out of it. Thats not the case at all :)

I think a lot of it has to do with people stuck in a mindset where passive income can only be interest, dividends, or real estate when as you said there are so many different ways to create passive income!

You can Test ideas on steemit and get suggestions from this wonderful community.

This is why I came here. And the tables have turned.

Now I am the idea and the product Steemit is testing. :P

Lovely post. As usual, concise and to-the-point there!

Unbelievable great. Thank you for sharing :) upvote and resteem. Let's more people see and know about it ;) Have a beautiful day.

You bring up a good point: once you get paid on SteemIt, that's it. There is no second paycheck or continuous one like a blog with advertising.

True :) Thats why I need to write about affiliate marketing as well.

What the hell, do u read people's mind. That's exactly what I was thinking about.

This seems like a opportune moment to insert a question I posted a few days ago. It has to do with affiliate link posting on Steemit. I do a lot of Howto & DIY writing and Amazon's affiliate program has the potential for great passive income. But I'm not sure how Kosher it is (or even if it's possible) to have anchor text affiliate links in posts. And I haven't been able to find anything in the etiquette guide or FAQ pages.

Anyone?

Wait, Are you referring to the affiliate links I have in my post? What are you asking?

No, I wasn't questioning any links in your posts. I'll give you an example, I write a DIY piece and some of the components I used came from Amazon. I have an Amazon affiliate account and want to be sure it's okay if I include affiliate links in my post, so I don't get flagged.

Yes! Include them. As long as you provide value It should be fine. I personally use affiliate links in almost every post I write :)

It's my biggest dream to actually author a book. but I don't know how to get there yet. Thanks for sharing, I will definitely consider how it can become a passive income for me in the very near future.

upvoted, resteemed and followed! :)
