Great-grandpa's nose = Siew Mai (Chinese dumplings)? | 5-minute freewrite
Let me start with one funny question which my friend used to ask me about nose.
Why does God create nose with the nostrils side down instead of face up? Wouldn't it be easier if they are facing up then the air can just land on the nostrils?
What a funny question which not only make us laugh but cause us much thinking too.
Answer: So that when it rains, our nostrils will not be drown.
I could remember my friend just blurted out "Gotcha" while he himself laughed hysterically. Thinking about him now also make me giggle.
I love those Korean chicks with cute small pointy nose. I think small nose looks gentler on girls. Hence, I always admire those with such noses. Mine, on the other hand, is meaty and fleshy. What a way to describe it. I have done much justice to my nose compared to my friends who were naughty - those whom purposely disturbed you to get your attention - who said whenever they looked at my nose they felt hungry. *it looks like 'siew mai' (Chinese language) which means Chinese dumplings. This particular one.
Sometimes, they would further irritate me to get even more attention by saying I am Bruce Lee's daughter since my surname is Lee. Their point was Bruce Lee had meaty fleshy nose. Some said mine looks like that of Jacky Cheung. Friends just love to pull my legs as I wasn't the type easily offended.
But to some point it affected me when I realised I started to pay more attention on my nose. Well, it does look bulky. But nope, never thought of plastic surgery whatsoever. The most I tried before was using a photo app and tried slimming my nose. Ermm... Looks neater of course.
But, as we grow, we also build our sense of worth not on how we look on the outside but how we are on the inside. I love my nose now. It is said to be hereditary, right from my great-grandpa. Just look at my selfie photo below and you will know what I meant by meaty nose. Lol..

I have had to come to terms with my big, fat, blobby nose. Thanks to cartilage that keeps growing, plus the effects of gravity, we will end up with even bigger noses as we age. Oh well.
