There's Limestone in Them Thar Hills - Mass Emigration from CA and CO to MO (and TX).

in #life6 years ago

With high real estate prices and many West Coast states imposing restrictive tax burdens on their citizens, a large number of people are emigrating from the coast and mountains to the hills and fields of the Midwest.

Many experts agree that real estate prices are in a major bubble in 2018. In big cities especially, home prices have become unreasonable for many young people and professionals.

Hi Steemians, I'm @holsturr.

TLDR: In early 2018, home prices across the United States were in a substantial bubble, making home ownership unattainable for many young people. Realtors in the middle of the country are noticing millennials and others seeking home ownership are coming to the more workable markets of the Midwest - especially Missouri and Texas.

In addition - many businesspeople are looking for a more financially favorable environment. Entrepreneurs, employees and employers alike are looking for states with stronger economies and friendlier tax rates.

The influx of new talent, intelligence, and culture into the Midwest could profoundly affect the future of the middle of the country.

Property prices across the United States were very high in 2017 and continued to climb in 2018. Real estate experts across the board agree that it is a seller's market, where home availability is limited and buyers are clamoring for a limited number of desirable properties.

The policies of many West Coast states, especially California, have resulted in a strained social environment and limited capability for upward mobility for residents and entrepreneurs alike. Constrictive tax rates and laws in California and states like Colorado are bringing people from the coast and mountains to the fields and trees of Midwest states with decent economies and kind tax environments like Missouri and Texas.

Areas of Texas and particularly Missouri have seen a mass exodus of intelligence and talent, a socioeconomic phenomenon known as Human Capital Flight (or - affectionately, brain drain).

Could an immigration of talent into places like the Missouri Ozarks and Texas change the social and economic trends of these areas?

Residents of California and Colorado are emigrating en masse to Missouri and Texas seeking a kinder socioeconomic and residential environment. Homes and properties in Midwestern states are in a price bubble just like real estate in coastal states, but home prices, laws, and the social situation are not as severe as California and Colorado; for these and other reasons, people are making the move to the better economies and more cordial environments of Missouri and other Midwestern states.

💰✨Remember… Every single person is their own trusted expert and seeking to promote yourself in that role is vital today, now more than ever.
