The Jason Momoa video thing - why would someone do this?

in #life5 years ago

They have done a good job keeping this under wraps and there really isn't much specific information about it available online but in case you haven't heard, someone claimed to have a video of Jason Momoa inappropriately touching a young girl.

What the maker of the video didn't include was that the person in the video is Jason's 11 year old daughter. This was quickly revealed and well it is pretty obvious seeing as how that girl looks exactly like Lisa Bonet (Momoa's wife.)

The uploader also failed to mention in the clip that it was heavily edited and only showed about 30 seconds of what was about a 7 minute original video. Jason and his kids were watching something intently and if you see the original video you can see that he is looking straight ahead and is fiddling with the flowers around his daughters neck not fiddling with his daughter.

Later in edited video Lola (daughter) appears to jerk away from his grasp, the maker of the video suggesting that she was sick of being touched... what they don't show is that she jumped up to say something to her Dad with a big smile on her face. Why did they edit that out?

I am curious as to what the motive is of people who make these sorts of accusations? Personal fame at the expense of someone else? Clickbait surely. Well, that is what is kind of happening to the creator (I can't recall dude's name) because Jason is taking legal action against him.

Look, I'm not saying that we should not be on the lookout for pedophiles and child abusers... I'm not saying that at all. But when we go digging so far that we are actually fabricating cases of this it deteriorates the fight against the people who really ARE committing these crimes. You know the story about the boy who cried wolf right?

To quote Max Kellerman "There are plenty of things to be upset about, but this aint it."

Sort:

Oh man this is just so sad. There is nothing worse than being wrongly accused of messing around with a kid. That is not something to play around with.

Someone's life could be ruined even if it is proven to be false. A lot of people would keep their kids away from that person 'just in case'. I have seen it happen before.

This happens all the thing on Twitter.
Thank God the whole story came out, most of the times Jungle Justice is dished out against people accused of stuffs like this, and they start getting bad publicity, lose money etc.

This is what we see these days where dubious and deceitful people use all forms of editing tools to create a fallacious and deceitful videos and images against celebrities just to bring down their fame with fake videos. What a shame on that guy too bad @gooddream

This is really absurd, people find it fit to tarnish others image especially celebrities which is not nice at all these people should be prosecuted
