Foundation 101: tips for using up your products 💄

This morning a post for the ladies!

Many of you probably have one (or more) foundations in their makeup-bag they don’t really use or never used because the color was not exactly right, or maybe you have some left that are really to dark for these winter months.

Well you don’t have to throw them away!
Try mixing!
I do it all the time, even though as a makeup artist i have a lot of different foundations and foundation-palettes, sometimes the perfect match does not come out of one bottle!

Especially these cold months, some extra hydration is never wrong!

I often mix one color with a moisturiser, that can be your daily moisturiser. Right now i’m using the Glamglow mega illuminating moisturiser, which gives a pearly glowy look.

If you have a color that is too dark, adding some moisturiser will make it sheerer and more weareable. You can also add a bit of a lighter color as i did here:

I have a special plate and spatula to mix foundations on, but you can just as easily use the tip of a makeup-brush and the back of your hand:
