Vlog 230: My own life changed in just under two years + 100.000 entrepreneurs on the Steem blockchain in 5 years.
There was a Steem meetup last week in Austin, Texas.
Ned and two members (sneak and pkattera) of Steemit inc. came round to talk about the blockchain and answer questions.
It was filmed and worth a watch here.
What I liked about it was not only the vision they have for SMT's and how it will empower communities but I also liked to hear them talk about how they got involved with the Blockchain.
It reminded me of how I discovered the blockchain in July 2016, after it went to $4 out of nowhere for the first time.
I checked out Steemit and could not believe this was a blockchain. (Later I learned this was not true, it was even better, steemit was only an app build on top of the blockchain, meaning much more could be build on top of it.)
And after I went to Steemfest1 I was convinced this was real and I rolled with it.
Now, I find myself as a witness, with my dev group @blockbrothers creating apps and tools and I was asked to speak live only recently and Wednesday I have an interview with David Pakman.
My whole life has changed in just under two years. It's just nuts.
Ned said that in five years time he wants to see 100.000 entrepreneurs on the Steem blockchain.
What I learned so far from being on this blockchain is that this can be anybody.
There is still so much opportunity to come.

If we could reach 100,000 entrepreneurs each with an average account of $1,000,000 each and 200,000,000 users each with an account value of $2,000 .. Then $500 billion Steem market cap is within the reach and the STEEM price could reach upto $1000 in next 5 years... Sounds really interesting, inspiring & motivating!

It changed mine in just 5 months of being serious with learning about blockchain. I have only spent less than 2 months on Steem blockchain and some of the applications built on it. The future is now.

That is amazing! 7 months! Opened my steemit profile in June of 2017 and I kind of forgot about it. Well, I rediscovered it, and have been posting every day for about a month, and i see how much it's grown. So, knowing you started right around when I got my account and you are saying your life is completely changed is very inspiring! Awesome!
It changed my life too in just 3 months. Since I joined I've become a cynical steem addict who sees mainly greed, whinging, arse licking, desperation and an old boys network of back slapping luvvies.
There are however, a great deal of top folks fighting to get to the top of the dross who post entertaining and educational content and doing great work for humanitarian causes.
Long may this eclectic mix continue, and long may your interesting and informative vlogs continue. You're a natural behind the mic., relaxing to listen to but perhaps a beard trim and a little eyeliner might enhance your professional presenting credentials ;-)

Totally agree..Steemit is more than just a blockchain! This platform created opportunity to everyone regardless of who we are. And there will be more opportunities waiting for sure
Mark @exyle I know SMT's are going to really cause the price of STEEM to move higher, How can it not be a Big Factor ?? Your life has changed dramatically and whether you know it or not are such a Big Factor in so many people's lives now here on STEEMIT. Even though I am old enough to be your Dad I like to think of you as my older Crypto Brother.....

It is getting easier to become an entrepreneur because of the new ways you can monetize your business through crypto. I was talking with my father the other day about starting a business after he retires and he saw as the biggest hurdle the way small companies are overtaxed in m country. With crypto and steem especially you can circumvent that.
Just like you, the super early adopters of Steemit are already feeling the impact on their lifes (positive impact), and I think with time we will see more people having to change their lives because Steemit is allowing it.
From the moment you join and decide to blog everyday, it immediately changes your routine, and when you get rewarded it might change your financial situation.
