Crisis of Concern

in #life6 years ago (edited)

The sense of caring seems to be a rare item in today's world. People only live to satisfy themselves. The interests of others are sacrificed, without guilt. Nature is broken, because human nature is destroyed, for its own sake only.

Care

In fact, like Martin Heidegger, the German philosopher, says in his book Sein und Zeit, caring (Sorge) is the basic relationship between man and his world. Man lives in a world he does not choose. He was "thrown out," Heidegger said. The quality of human life is determined by the extent to which it is able to develop this sense of concern in relation to the world.

The sense of care is also based on empathy. Empathy, in this sense, is the human ability to see the world from the perspective of others. The sense of care moves further by thinking about the needs of others, and what actual action can be taken to meet those needs.

Actually, caring is very important in living together. Solidarity also grew out of this concern. Unfortunately, in many areas of life, we are witnessing a crisis of concern. The crisis then became a source for many other crises.

Crisis of Concern

In politics, we see many politicians corrupt and corrupt. The regional head proved corrupt. In fact, the chairman of the institution that represents the interests of the people is trapped in the alleged corruption giant. So many politicians without a care is what makes people suspicious of politics as a whole.

In fact, caring is the core of politics in a democratic society, like Indonesia. The people have their representatives and leaders, because they are considered concerned with the interests and welfare of the people. In this sense, public leaders mean public servants. Caring is a very important part of the ministry.

The same can be found in the business field. People are blinded by money and fun that come from money. Everything is done, including harming workers and the public at large, to get as much profit as possible. Their lives are guided by the desires of greed.

This is certainly contrary to the principle in building a quality business, profitable and sustainable. Mark Vogt, in his book Prinzip Nachhaltigkeit: Ein Entwurf aus theologisch-ethischer Perspektive, affirms the importance of values wrapped in a sense of care to develop organizations in its various forms. Sustainable development (nachhaltige Entwicklung), he says, rests on two things: solidarity and personal freedom.

Business is not just about profit, it's about creating something of value to society. Value can be either goods or services. Profits are simply the impact of the high quality of the value provided by the organization. This basic view should not be forgotten.

The world of education is also hit by a crisis of concern. Learners are seen as machines that must obey lessons and examinations. They are given the ability to compete in the business world. Unfortunately, in the process, critical thinking and concern for social problems are also eroded.

This is called Henry Giroux, in his On Critical Pedagogy, as a neoliberal pedagogy. Education becomes a business and economic slave. Money is a key measure of success in life. The noble values of life and education run out slowly but surely.

Though, caring is the heart of education. Without a sense of care, education is mere training. It does not inspire, shape and change characters. He only teaches, such as transferring knowledge from one computer to another.

Finally, attention will never be lost. It is a part of life that is in every creature. However, it can be forgotten, especially by humans who are colonized by uncontrolled greed. It is our duty to remember it, and apply it in everyday life.

So many people forget that others are what matters first. I'll be completely opened and honest and state that there are certain people in this world for whom I would gladly die, if it came to it. Not to say that I'd do something drastic like that for a complete stranger, but at least everyone, I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, and I love sharing my knowledge with others, even when they do not want to learn. I've gotten that quite a bit as well.

It has become a reality today, selfishness has become very common, this is like living in a barren land, Fighting for life avoids threats from the wild. But we have no knowledge of it.

I think the bigger problem is that a lot of people don't bother to actually look. That's why we don't see it.
