Coffee or Tea? Two Types of Steemit

Are you a tea person, or a coffee person?

“There are two types of people in this world...”
....is the way that most such distinctions start off. But what does your stimulant of choice really say about you?

Looking back at its reputation over time, I can say that Coffee was seen as the catalyst for enlightenment as far back as the eighteenth and seventeenth centuries. People would gather to discuss serious subject matter, including the financial goings-on of the day, and philosophical and scientific matters. Coffee is still seen by most people today, as the necessary activator for a productive day. It is a motivator, and a warm cup of it is all the comfort needed, at times.

Tea, has a long history, and a dignified place in social settings. The idea of a cup of tea, evokes a scene of decorum and decency, amongst polite company. It embodies serenity, and
understanding of self and others. The sharing of tea is elevated in multiple cultures to the level of ceremony and ritual. In other cultures it is still the traditional choice for socializing and welcoming others with the best of etiquette.

So how does this translate, is there a moral here? I believe the distinction in approaches to sharing a cup of one or the other, is a necessary one. Both experiences are necessary in this world, and neither is inherently wrong. It is a combination, or intermixing of these states of mind, that gives us the diversified mix of capability, inspiration and creativity and passion, that makes great things possible for us as a society.

We must have our drive, our ambition, our flashes of inspiration... i.e. we must have our coffee.

We must have that consideration for others, for the wisdom and experience of years past, and the moral values of a progressive society that cherishes ALL of society... i.e. we must have our tea.

I can liken this analogy to very many situations and quandaries in daily life. I would like to apply it to DTube, and Steamit. DTube’s innovation is exciting, and we can all practically taste the vast array of raw possibility within our reach, thanks to this amazing technology. Yet in this undiscovered land, where we are still charting the way forward, it is important to remember that even on the frontier, it is our humanity and consideration, that will keep us moving forward as one.

As we post, let us all remember that there are many approaches, but that we are all striving for the same thing. A better experience for tomorrow, that when we wake, we may open out eyes and look around in wonder and appreciation.
