The beautiful floating village at Inle Lake, Myanmar
Untouched beauty of Inle Lake
Located in Shan State - Inle Lake is definitely among the best places to visit while in Myanmar. Here are a few shots from the floating village stretched across 22 kms that I took back in 2014.
The most beautiful sight at Inle is to see fishermen standing on one leg and wrapping the other around the oar to steer, keeping both hands free to cast the net. This made for a very 'Inle Lake' picture that you won't find elsewhere in the world.
Canoes are a common sign in the village - there are several floating restaurants and houses all around the village
Floating Gardens at Inle Lake - the local people sail into these gardens to maintain them and grow vegetables and fruits

Indigenous Kayan women of Burma with brass coils around their neck - popularly known as the 'long neck' women

What a beautiful place, breathing peace
It was beautiful and very different. To be honest, it was also quite sunny at that time. I recommend visiting when it's cooler to really enjoy the canoe ride here!
