It's common in all of us to have several passions. In my case my passions are cooking (I'm a professional chef) and music. Since I can remember, my love for music has been huge. The music class in my school has started to awaken my interest to learn all kinds of instruments: percussion triangle, flaute, saxophone, guitar, drums, etc. Even in some bad situations, there was no excuse to refuse music and learn from it. I was also able to enjoy the best time of my life with my friends, forming a rock band. At that time my maturity for the appreciation of all styles of music has been tuned to the maximum interpretation. Since then I have thought that my new family could enjoy music as much as I do right now and spend time together doing activities that develop a family bonding through music.

Since ancient times and many scientific investigations they have concluded that the inclusion of music from an early age helps to improve emotional and cognitive development on kids, speaking in a general term. And that is the goal that the "El Sistema" team has when carrying out in these activities at its headquarters every month. This activity is called "Programanis" and is being widely recognized throughout the area.

During the activity some games were carried out, where the parents also had a very important participation with their childrens and both receive the same education to create the connection that it requires in the family growth. Education through games and children's songs encourages to the kids to develop their intellect in a fun way, and we also had a lot of fun with them. These activities have the same content as the music school dictates daily, for example: different musical scales and their notes, recognition of the musical pentagram, rhythms and times, etc. The hosts also gave great advice to continue the education at homes.

At the end of the activity, some kids who are studens in "El Sistema" music school presented their instruments, briefly explained their functions in the orchestra and the characteristics of their instruments, later they interpreted together some classical music themes. They also gave us a music album by Gustavo Dudamel feat the Los Angeles Philharmonic during the Mahler project that took place in 2012. You have no idea how happy I was being with my family in that activity. I feel more fulfilled as a parent knowing that I contribute to the future of my son and I'll continue to educate him using music as a tool, because I know it is the right way to form an excellent human being with a high emotional intelligence that will help him in all his life.
