Flat Earth? - and my results

Inspired by the following video

and the following article

I took about an hour to do some studying around my area (The Pacific Northwest).. I wanted to determine if there was a gross conspiracy about the shape of the Earth? I have to admit, this seems ludicrous, insane, but none the less, what does it hurt to do a bit of studying and prove some (idiots?) people wrong?

I found the following image from a Blog - it is from the Peak of Mt Bachelor @ about 9068ft (in the blog).

http://sharmanian.blogspot.ca/2012/10/mt-bachelor-views-of-oregon-cascades.html

I then used PeakFinder.org to get the Computer Generated image - https://www.peakfinder.org/?lat=43.9792&lng=-121.6886&azi=1&zoom=6&ele=2759&cfg=rsm&date=2016-09-18T17:03Z&name=mount bachelor

and the Snipping Tool to get this image

PeakFinder.org also confirmed the Bloggers Mt Bachelor Height from the picture to be 9050ft, within 18ft of the blog.

Next, I used the Binoculars tool on PeakFinder.org to measure distances to the relevant peaks from the bloggers image and also used the Earth Curve Calculator @

https://dizzib.github.io/earth/curve-calc

to determine the declination. All of this can be confirmed by others from the included links.

Results
Mt Bachelor to Broken Top - 7.2 Miles - 9042 ft Elevation - 34.5 ft Declination
Mt Bachelor to Mt Jefferson - 48.3 Miles - 10246 ft Elevation - 1555 ft Declination
Mt Bachelor to Mt Hood - 96.3 Miles - 11161 ft Elevation - 6182 ft Declination
Mt Bachelor to Mt Adams - 153.8 Miles - 12287 ft Elevation - 15770 ft Declination

Short story, you should not be able to see the base of Mt Hood in the image nor should you be able to see Mt Adams at all.. If the Earth is a curve, either it is much bigger than science tells us or it is not a ball at all..

Please, someone check my math and make sure I have not made any mistakes..

I've noticed the same sort of thing. We have a lot of mountains here in quebec. What weird is you can see one mountain after the other and they are all level at the peaks (give or take their differences in height). It's the same for your photo. This shouldn't be possible with the globe model. How can the second row of mountains be visible at all? I can see three and four rows of mountains on a clear day. It just doesn't add up. I can't say I'm a flat earther, but there are certainly things that don't make sense.

Once you get really curious and youre a few months in, all day every day wherever you walk ride or drive youre doing experiments, in your head, youre looking at the sun and the moon totally differently, you see the horizon differently, you look down a coastline at every mountain range with two possibilities and it just gets you deeper and deeper into a knowing, a realisation, that it IS possible that the elitists lied about this for the purposes of mind control. They knew trauma based mind control since at least Egypt. They are at the base level owning whoever they can dis-connect with their own "knowings". What we are doing by "experimenting", is having little tastes of our own knowing. Aint it delicious

I Agree 100% - "I can't say I'm a flat earther, but there are certainly things that don't make sense."

awesome work. confused the shit out of me I can only do it at sea level or I feel all screwed up not knowing how high the camera is. I also loved the guys vid. Thank you so much @damono for your effort, balls and service to free thought!
@carlita shaw this is two examples of people who do a little research and find what almost every amateur finds .. . .its phucking phlat!

Two immediate observations, the mountain on the left marked Mt. Washington is actually a mountain called Three Fingered Jack. Mt. Washington is not visible as it is behind the closer North Sister mountain. You can verify this by comparing angles on google earth or your peak finder site. Second the base of Mount Adams is not visible, you are seeing mountains and hills that are quite a bit closer.

Pretty much only the snow covered peak of Mt. Adams is visible in this image. I have software for calculating radio communication links and it shows that this is viable. Keep in mind that at both ends you are just under 2 miles and just over 2 miles elevation on Mount Adams. If you simply combine the heights of both mountains which is approximately 20000 feet you can then calculate the distance to the horizon which is 173 miles.

If you were standing on a Mountain that was 20000 feet tall you could see 173 miles.

The picture was taken on Mount Bachelor, from Mount Bachelor if the rest of the world was at sea level you would be able to see 116 miles. Since Mount Adams also sticks upwards of 11000 feet you can see it.

This is why you can see Mt. Adams as you should be calculating the combined heights of the two mountains. The distance in the image is 154 miles. You can calculate the horizon here http://www.ringbell.co.uk/info/hdist.htm or at the site you linked.

Based on your calculations you should be able to see the top 4300 feet of Mt Adams.

Hope this makes sense.

And yes to Three Fingered Jack, it'a why I left it out of the piece..

Ah yes.. If I was at Sea Level there would be over 15000 ft hidden, but since I'm standing at 9000 and viewing 11000, for a combined 20000, with a 15700 decline there is 4300 unhidden.. Thanks for catching the math.. Now I need to re-investigate. Someone else pointed me at refraction and a 3rd person suggested figuring out parallax..

I'm reasonably sure that refraction would be extremely slight on something like this, might change viewing by 100 feet or so. Sometimes when you look at a communications tower with a strobe light on it from a large distance, you can occasionally see it in spite of the fact that it is slightly over the horizon.

The fact that Mount Adams is visible in this image, and that Mount Rainier is not visible, is compelling evidence that the Earth is in fact round. If the Earth was flat Mount Rainier should appear quite tall, and a lot more of Mount Adams would appear in the photograph. Mount Rainier is 50 miles further.

Or.. It could be behind Broken Top or just not clear enough for that distance. We should be able to see Mt St Helens too, with or without curve.. I'd like to find a similar image from about half way up Bachelor..
