Rocking with reflexology - Spinal discomfit

in #life8 years ago (edited)

Hi there :) everyone.

Spinal pain is so common - you get out of bed and your back goes out - It varies from excruciating pain to mild - I had a boss once when I was young, who bent down to pick up his toothbrush and his back went out. He could not stand up straight for a week. Then there are others who have had a traumatic experiences which messed up their backs for them. So how is it treated without always using anti-inflammatory and pain killers...

Imagine .... If you had crossed your one leg over the other. so that your ankle rested on your knee - you would then see the side of the foot facing you. you would see your inner ankle - side of the instep etc. If you now run your fingers from you heel to your toe you would feel a bony ridge right up to the joint of the toe. THAT represents the spinal column - just under that you feel a soft cushion of muscle - this represents the muscles of the back. (from heel to toe)

What you do now is ... slowly feel your way along the ridge - one centimeter at a time. First rub it up and down a little - then start at the heel and work your way up to the toe. Where you feel a sharp or dull spot you stop and massage that spot until the pain goes away - then you move onto the the next centimeter and so on until you reach right up to the joint of your toe. If you can use your thumb in a caterpillar movement this would be good.

Sometimes if your pain is sever or you are treating an old injury the points may be numb to begin with - this is the body turning off the pain alarms so that the person can cope and get on with their day after a fashion - but just go over the points again even a day apart - you will see that your foot reflex point will wake up. This is good once you have sensitivity you work on it until the sensation goes away, which in turn will eliminate or at least lesson the pain in the back). Give yourself this treatment at least once every two days -

I have helped may people (Plus myself) with this method. It's great to know how to help your body.

you can use an olive oil based preparation to help with the massage of the feet. I use a couple of drops of lavender essential oil with same amount of Tea tree -

UPDATE

The picture that I have used is a Google picture -

BUT you must type https;// in first. then you will get to the page I used. I not yet sure on how to put the link in without it actually downloading the picture and not the address.

I wish you health and joy. :)

Great post! This will be useful for lots of people.
I'm a curator for SteemTrail for the "health" category and I'd like to recommend this for consideration. But before I can do that, can you please add a picture credit. If it's your own picture, just say so.
You might like to read my post about curating https://steemit.com/health/@kiwideb/my-first-2-months-on-steemit-and-now-curating-for-steemtrail
I know I've already seen some of your posts, so sorry if I already posted this to you before.
If you reply saying it's done, I'll see the message, then can recommend you.

WOW I am amazed that you have offered a recommendation, thank you so much. Being new to Steemit I decided to choose a picture from Google with the title "Free- reflexology foot charts" and that is where I found the pictures that I have used. I think what you are asking for is the link address I am not sure what a picture credit is the link address - is that correct? first I could not get the image on and only the link came up - now it is the other way around :)
it is:-

I wrote it like that because if I put it together the picture comes through and not the address - how do I put it on the post?

If I would like to upload my own pictures - how could I do that? The information which I have written is from my own experience. In the future I will put the links in - sorry about that. :) thank you once again :)

. I also read your link and will refer back to it again before I write my next post so that I can get it spot on.

Dear Kiwideb,

I have found an edit point - have I done it correctly?

To link to a source, you need to find the the link for the page the original image came from, rather than the link for the picture itself. Put that under the picture link.
To get it tidier, you would put the text you want to be the link eg Image Source in square brackets like this [ ] and then you'd put the link itself in round brackets ( ).
To read more on that, have a look at @thecryptofiend's article on Markdown (linked to in my post

thank you Kiwideb,

I will try that :)
