๐Ÿ˜ A Day Interrupted ๐Ÿ˜

A Day Interrupted.png

Greetings, Steemians!

The last few days I've been getting pleasantly interrupted, but interrupted, nonetheless.

It's taken a tiny toll on my Steemit activity, but instead of continuing to work on what I WAS working on, I've decided to fill ya in.๐Ÿ˜€

Yesterday, we had a lovely visit from a young mother (about 26) and her 5-year old son. They simply showed up and knocked on our door because they were bored. The mother had some questions about buying/building a house and just wanted something else for Shawn to do. The pair ended up staying for 2 hours. It was pretty lovely.๐Ÿ˜ The little guy is so intelligent! It's amazing what little people can grow into when given the proper love and teachings.

When it was finally time for them to leave (as we had to go to the city for groceries), it took Shawn MUCH convincing that he could come back before he was willing to go. This was his first time to our place since he was a wee one and didn't remember much. Our house IS pretty much the funnest! LOL!๐Ÿ˜Ž @chrisroberts brought out a fabulous little toy car that entertained all of us for quite a while. He climbed a tree with our kitty in the backyard. He literally RAN everywhere! It was awesome. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Though we had had tentative plans when they arrived, we compromised and had a pretty great time.

Love going with that flow.

And then today, Beau, the mountain man, and his two HUGE doggies came by for a visit. (Sorry, I totally didn't get a pic of them.)

I assumed I'd see him soon as the weather is getting colder. He generally finds a place to stay during the hard months (sometimes just a cave), or he leaves the area... on foot, often with a llama.

It was his birthday today. He turned 46. I gifted him a bag of our home grown cannabis. ๐Ÿ˜ Though he's lived outside in the mountains most of his life he appears to be young with bright blonde hair and even brighter blue eyes. He's finally feeling like he's ready to 'settle down' and find a nice woman to be his wife. He really IS the sweetest soul.

As we always do, we had an in depth conversation about life, the Tao, Spirit, the community, the world and Universe. We often get on topics about the state of the world, specifically now how communication is lacking.

Today I offered him a simple song lyric @chrisroberts wrote :

What do you know that you haven't been told?

When it comes right down to it. We are all putting faith and believing IN things we've been told. VERY little of what we say we KNOW is from first hand experience. And if this is the case, why do folks get so worked up about having differing viewpoints?

Because faith.๐Ÿ˜

It's never because of facts. Facts don't make you want to cry and fight. They're just facts. Though if we are being all philosophical, what ARE facts? ๐Ÿค” To you?

But feels?

Oh, that's MUCH different. A LOT of emotion comes with feels.

I could site a very controversial topic as example, but don't want y'all's brains exploding ๐Ÿ˜ Literally (almost) anything, including the statement, "The sky is blue", is simply something you've been told and now CHOOSE to believe.

One may argue that MANY believe this same thing, and that's why it's widely accepted- and I agree... but what if.... what if a LARGE portion of folks came forward and said the sky is actually purple? That what we THOUGHT was blue is purple?

Would your whole world crumble? Would you deny it at all costs? Would you tell the people they are stupid and ignorant and know nothing?

Or would you research? Look into it for yourself? Find out WHY they think this? Attempt reasonable discussion (sans name-calling)?

Do you wonder why it matters?

I mean, the sky isn't going to fall. You don't really NEED it to be blue. Essentially, because it's so much bigger than you, it's just another thing to agree on to make communication easier.

So... why do so many take the approach of name-calling to those that are doing EXACTLY what everyone should be doing? Constantly questioning.

Don't give up your questions.

Don't ever stop learning.

DO research.

DO communicate.

And most of all ...

DO listen.๐Ÿ‘‚

It's becoming all we have left.

I had a really great day today. I didn't get the things done I needed too, but I listened and communicated and hugged. It was awesome.

I hope your TODAY is amazing too!

Thanks for the update and looking forward to see what you're working on next that you've put off due to the distractions.

I'm trying to get an 'explanation' post out regarding my insane health background. It's a LOT to cover, but I don't want to make it too long or too boring. ๐Ÿ˜ I tend to go over and over what I want to say, the order, how to say it, before even getting to typing. ๐Ÿ˜

That's just one of the things. ๐Ÿ˜‰

If it's too long break it up into parts :D. No shame in breaking up a lot of information.

AWESOME little post. Truly, if you dig deep enough you learn the sky is NOT blue, it only APPEARS blue part of the time from some perspectives... and that little truth applies to SO many of our beliefs that being dogmatic about much of anything is simply refusing the option to learn. Why do THAT?! For COMFORT? To be "socially acceptable?"Dare to let go of belief and risk knowing...

Yes. You get me. But I knew that. ๐Ÿ˜

oh well said Carrie!
and socializing is cool , i agree :) so lovely to get awesome company !

It IS so nice. Especially knowing folks feel comfortable (even after LONG stints in time) that they are welcome to drop in. ๐Ÿ˜

It sounds like you have quite the amazingly life :) The visitors and the "mountain man" sounds amazingly interesting.

And I so SO agree with the last part of your post. I wish people could be a little more open minded OR really, just agree to disagree about things instead of thinking that everyone Needs to believe the same as they do.

Ya know, everytime I step back and look at it, our life IS quite amazing/wonderful/awe-inspiring/interesting/fun/etc. Almost seems surreal at times.

We DO live in a place that allows very eclectic things to be around us. A horse and buggy go by the house most days- to the community garden, to help weed. ๐Ÿ˜ And I often see Buddhist monks walk or hitching rides (and I've given them rides). It's a wonderful place I get to call home.

Wow. That sounds incredible. We've had some very interesting homes, but at the moment we're in the midst of typical American suburbia, so it's nice to read about other more interesting places some times.

Indeed. I visit those typical places, but simply don't fit in. LOL! S'alright, though, as I've found just the spot. ๐Ÿ˜
