The Orchid Blooms
Apparently Orchids can be very temperamental plants, and need to be in the perfect location in the house for them to flower well. Many suggest a warm, humid room like a bathroom. We have had ours on our dining room table for most of the time we've had it, and after dropping its flowers early in February this year, it has sprouted and bloomed beautifully. Just have a look for yourselves:
This was the first flower to open, but there is another bulb almost ready to open as well.
A closer look has revealed a tiny thrid bud on the way, so with a bit of luck we'll have three of these flowers in full bloom soon.
Mrs MJ has done a great job nurturing the plant since she got it. It must be in just the right spot too! I would have forgotten to water it, and would probably have had a dry brown stick in a pot by now...

How gorgeous! Your wife is amazing. I used to be in charge of the floral department at a local natural grocery and my boss was always ordering orchids. I could barely keep them alive long enough to sell them!
Beautiful photos. I so wish I could keep plants without killing them!
