Are we moving towards a peaceful world???

When we deprive ourselves of something for the long period of time that becomes the most important and most sought after thing in our life. That is what is happening with the peace in the world today.

Till the recent time war was the constant phenomena in the world and still it is to some extent, that is why it has become the most important in the world to work towards peaceful world. Whole world is talking about it but are we really serious that is the question to ask.

World peace can be approached in two ways and both are fundamentally different from each other.

One way is to think of the world peace in the global context and device instruments to implement it. This is how we are dealing with it right now, we have set up different global institutions like UNO and others to look after disputes between the countries and resolve them with peaceful means. Aim is to ultimately cumulate whole world as a global village so that we could live on this planet without very rigid boundaries and ultimately to do away with them at all.

Although this dream of nations without borders is really a fantastic one but it is too much utopian like, and the way we are going at it, certainly the dream will never become reality.

The approach for attaining world peace by dealing with nations itself is only relevant till a time and it was really the only method which we could have adopted initially but as we have come long way since the world has seen the wrath of 'world wars' it is time to adopt the second approach and that is dealing with it in a way that it will provide a permanent solution and not the temporary one.

World is just a human idea, and that too a very exclusive one because of self centric nature of humans. It is just the magnified projection of individuality we possess. There is nothing but individuals in the world. If the individuals are at peace that will automatically reflect on to the world. So the next stage in ensuring world peace is to make people peaceful. How much you work for the world peace, if people living in it are not at peace their conflict will ultimately spill out in the world.

Now when we have nearly completed the initial stage in establishing harmony in the world it is time that we pay attention to the realities of the world and not just the abstract ideas, and what is this reality I am talking about i.e. individual people.

Shifting our attention from strengthening the abstract ideas to loosening the boundaries is the need of the hour, instruments and methods of raising human consciousness must be applied towards that purpose.
