How eating breakfast made us weak(part 3).

in #life7 years ago (edited)

What if I told you that your body wants to eat itself up during the day, and then rebuild at night? Like literally. First it uses it's sugar, then it reaches for stored fat, and after that, it starts catabolizing your muscles. And it's all for good(like I said in a previous post, your body will never sabotage itself).

This is the third and final part of "How eating made us weak" series. Hopefully. If you didn't read the first two parts, I strongly encourage you to do so, since I'll be assuming that you already know a whole bunch about how the human body operates. The links are here

How's breakdown of muscle tissue a good thing?

Well my friend, I'm about to rock your world.

The vast majority of our body is made up of proteins. And these proteins don't live forever(surprise surprise), they have a certain life span. And the more life span they have, the more life span our body has. Once a protein dies, a part of us gets old(which is very bad put, but I hope you get the point). The more we can renew these proteins or burn away the "dead" ones, the more we can increase the life span of our body. We stay young(er).

That's why exercising is so important. It's known to keep us "young and healthy". Exercising stimulates muscle growth(new or "fresh" proteins), and to some extent, catabolizes disused tissue and body fat(bad proteins).

But nobody told us that fasting does a better job at both. It stimulates way more muscle growth by skyrocketing our growth hormone production, and catabolizes way more of the disused tissue, since we can fast for longer periods of time than we can exercise.

And don't you worry about losing those precious muscles. As I've said before, your body first uses its sugar, then it uses its fat, then it starts catabolizing it's muscles.

And when you get to the point that you're lean and not having much more fat to burn, by leaving your body with only muscles for the fuel during the day, even greater things happen. By catabolizing our muscles and other tissues throughout the day, our rate of renewing these tissues increases massively. I can confirm this from my own experience, since I've been able to train way more than ever before, and there's no such thing as muscle fatigue anymore(or at least the aspect of it changed completely).

I'm trying to present a different aspect on how our body operates. How it sees food, how it sees hunger, and how it deals with both. So it's not only about burning fat and building muscle, it's about rebuilding your body from ground up. Renewing it completely. And one can not to that with exercising alone, but it sure can with the help of fasting.

For the last time, I'll quote Hippocrates for the end, as he really said it nicely:

"Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in it's
work. The natural healing force within each one of us is
the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our
medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when
you are sick is to feed your sickness."

PS: This bring us the the end of "How eating breakfast made us weak" series. BUT, there will be more (un)official parts coming out somewhere in the distant future. Till then, I'll talk less about food and more about exercising.

PPS: I've fixed my car! It's got a new suspension already, got it for a bargain. Woop woop!
