Pokemon Trainer Or Pokemon Zombie?
Don't get me wrong, I love Pokemon. Pokemon has played a huge part during my childhood. From the television series to the Gameboy game. It has brought many tears and joy.
Recently there is a mobile app game called Pokemon GO that came out. I don't know about you guys but it is actually starting to get out of hand. It took a long time before it became available in Singapore and it really build up the anticipation of the players in my country.
At first, I thought that it was just going to be a trend that will quickly go down but little did I know that it would go way out of hand.

The photo above was taken at 12.15am. I'm not even kidding. These people are out at midnight trying to catch pokemon.
This is a photo of the ready to eat food shelves at a convenience store near the location. It is absolutely insane.
I thought that was insane until I saw what was on the news today. Take a look at this.

More than 200 residence went on a Pokemon Trail organised by their local town council committee. They were all broken up into groups and headed together from landmarks to landmarks where the organisers placed "lures"(In game item that is bought that would attract rare Pokemon).
They would work in teams and get stamps at each check points where they will be qualified for a draw at the end.
I don't know about you, but I think that this game is getting a little out of hand.

I agree and I don't even play the game. I love pokemon don't get me wrong. But this game has gotten way out of control. I don't think people realize that it is just a game. I also really wanted it and thought the trending phase would pass. Sadly, I also was wrong. It really don't see why it is so big either. What I got from many people is that its like google maps just you go to a location and find pokemon. Thats it.

Yeah man that is the part I don't get, like it is just a really basic game and most of the time they do not even use the AR as it take up too much battery. it's just shocking what we have come to.
Agreed lol. I think augmented reality is a really dangerous thing that I want no part of. People have literally died already while in their Pokemon trances. Car wrecks, shootings, ect. What people will do while playing is just ridiculous. I've read about people stopping in the middle of highways, trespassing, walking into traps, all sorts of crap. Sadly it's not just young kids either, I've seen 40+ adults walking around completely absorbed to their phones. I have nothing against video games or virtual reality, but I'm against this new augmented reality craze and I hope future apps and games go a different route (which they probably won't.) Mixing reality with fantasy should be illegal.
Omg yes, I thought that I was the only one that feel that way. It's really getting out of hand. Literally everywhere I go, on the train station, walkways, and even on the road I see people playing the game. They are so absorbed into the game that they are not aware of their surrounding. It's really insane.
