Whirley Pop Popcorn Popper - Why We Love It - Thumbs Up Thursday by A Panama Mama

I posted yesterday about making popcorn for our healthy snack and showed you a picture of the item I’d like to recommend today. It’s a life changer for the popcorn world and it’s the only way that I make popcorn anymore (besides the fact that we don’t have a microwave here in Panama). Life as you know it will change if you purchase a Whirley Pop.

The other day my good friend @superinvisible was over and commented on my popcorn popper. I was using it to make popcorn for our celebration that I plan to post about tomorrow. She thought it was the coolest popcorn popper ever and I have to agree. It is so cool, I’m going to write a post about it and convince you that you also need one.

The Whirley Pop is so easy to use, even my kids do it. You just put in our ingredients, put it on the stove and spin the handle. You start to hear the popcorn pop and you keep going until the pops are a few seconds apart. When you pour out the popcorn, you notice that almost all (if not all) of the kernels have popped! It’s amazing and it works great!

When I ordered my Whirley Pop, it came with some premade packets for making movie flavor popcorn (let’s just say tons of salt and butter flavoring but SUPER tasty) and kettle corn (tons of sugar but YUMMY)! They use coconut oil in the packets, but I just use whatever I have which is usually olive oil. The premade packs are great, but you can just do your own. My Whirley Pop also came with a recipe book, or you can check online (http://whirleypopshop.com/recipepage.html). I never should have looked because now I’m going to have to try some of them out! Yum!

We love our Whirley Pop and I even consider buying one for everyone I know for Christmas every year! Maybe this will be the year! You can buy one from their website and I have also seen them on amazon.

These really are the best and we love making popcorn in it. They make a great gift (54 days to Christmas) and are priced right around $30 for the original model plus the popcorn packets. Check it out and you’ll be glad you did!

My mom used one of these for years, so my wife and I registered for one when we got married and someone bought it for us! It's an incredible little device, and I don't think I've had microwaved popcorn since. I even complain about movie theater popcorn sometimes because I can make such good popcorn at home.

Glad someone else enjoys their Whirly-Pop!

Nice! I'm glad there is someone else out there who has one and appreciates it! :) Cool deal that you registered for it and someone actually got it for you! :)

That is a pretty cool popper. I just use a normal old pot with a glass lid but I'd love your popper better. I bought a big 12 pound bag of popcorn kernels because we eat so much of it. So much better than the microwave kinds.

Wow! That's a lot of popcorn!! :) Yes, Whirley Pop is the best! :)

Lovely popcorn!

Nice one. I think i heard about that some time ago.

From how it looks it should be kinda easy to clean after the "job" is done.

I haven't eat from some time now but maybe in the future will buy it. For the moment i rarely watch movies and rarely enjoy this nice moments.

This moment remember me from last summer when i went to one of my cousins and been there 2-3 weeks. My niece, 11y then, was so happy when her father bought a sugar wool machine. So happy... lol, me too.

I played with her and eat some sugar wool then.

So, i suppose maybe next time i'll go there i will tell them about that one too.

Cheers

Nice! We call it cotton candy! Yum!! It is easy to clean. The top comes off easily and you just wipe the bowl clean! :)

Lol... so many names in english for this machines, hehe.

I hope that it could be done without oil though. My body doesn't like oil from quite some time now and i feel bad after eat things made in oil.

Can they be done with butter in that one? Just thinking if it is possible... but it will be needed in a reasonable quantity.

I love when i make food to invent things but when i don't know most of the times i ask . I know that not all my ideas could work ;-)

You probably could use butter, I'm not sure. I know you can pop popcorn in a paper sack with kernels and salt only in a microwave, so I bet you could do it in the Whirley Pop.

Hehe, thanks for the advice.

I will try that.

Be well and have a lot of fun.

Cheers
