What is (not) Libertarian Socialism?

in #libertarian6 years ago

So let me get this right.... a correct understanding of socialism comes not from the Concise Encyclopedia of Economics (one of the top reference sources on economics) entry on Socialism, written by Robert Heilbroner (one of the major left-wing economists of the 20th century, who might know a thing or two about socialism), but instead from infoshop.org in an article with no actual author listed? Then follow that up with a gratutious reference to Conservapedia and Glenn Beck that makes it seem like the quality of the Econlib entry you critically linked is the equivalent? Really, really weak.

So not only do you apparently not have a CLUE about the quality of citations you're making use of, you engage in some slippery bait and switch to leave the impression EconLib is a right-wing hack site when, in fact, the entry is written by a freaking socialist in one of the top Economics references books out there. Claiming that Robert Heilbroner has "misconceptions" about the nature of socialism is the funniest thing I've read all week. Please, explain them to me with all your deep knowledge of the history of socialist theory....

It's okay not knowing what you're talking about - but it's not okay to not know that you don't know what you're talking about.

We will convince no one of anything with shoddy work like this.

(All of that said, libertarian socialism is a serious thing worth taking seriously, but you won't get anything more than a description here. Go elsewhere if you want a serious critical look at it.)
