Review of Shuang Yue
This restaurant has recently received a Michelin Bib Gourmand award, the first time Taiwan has been included in the list.
It opens at 5pm and when I strolled up at 5pm there were already about 20 people in the queue, plus the first batch of people who had already sat down. Since I wasn't very hungry yet, I decided to hang around in the queue to see if it was worthwhile. I ended up queuing for one hour, though to be fair the staff were really good and were handing out tea to people in the queue.
When I finally got to sit down I found out it was actually quite small inside, and they didn't rush you to finish your food that's why it takes a long time to get in.
The menu is quite simple and they don't do many items. The main ones are savoury rice, herbal medicine soup, and different kinds of braised meat and tofu which are very popular all over Taiwan.
Overall the food is very nice, and the service. very courteous. However, I wouldn't stand in the queue for an hour again to eat here. If I pass by and there was a queue then I would definitely come back again.
