Ready for take-off!!
It's done! Whew! The Peacock bag is finally ready to fly. This is a bag is made of Vegetable tanned leather. I handtooled the design and did all the painting. Herewith the fruit of my labours on my studio desk.
The strap of this bag is very unusual, a friend gave me a whole bag of these pieces, they all interlink, so conveniently and somehow they go so well in colour and shape with the design of the feathers. I added an adjustable leather strap with a buckle.
I ventured out into the garden to do this piece some justice ... tada!!
And the picture comes out tiny, oh my sweet Aunt Petunia. Onwards to be viewed askance ...
This is rather a capacious handbag, with 5 compartments, and I added really cool old buttons to close the bag.

This is SO nice @fairyfeet. I just saw your finished bag and went back through all your process posts. You've put a lot of effort into this bag and it's really beautiful and well made. Am I right that it's vegan leather as well? Cos that makes me like it even more. I hope you love it if you're not selling it.
thank you so much. It is made of vegetable tanned cowhide, which is not so chemical, but alas not vegan. It is off to Bike Week in Margate for 4 days, so maybe it sells, which would be super cool!
Ah ok, I wasn't sure what vegetable tanned leather meant. Less chemicals sounds better though.
