Swiss cheese plant, whose scientific name is monstera deliciosa, is a species of flowering plant native to the tropical forests of southern Mexico and southern Panama.

It is also called split-leaf philodendron because its leaves split into multiple lobes. Meanwhile, the common name "Swiss cheese plant" refers to the "eyes" or holes in the leaves that look like Swiss cheese.

In young plants, the leaves are small and have no holes or lobes, but as they grow, they soon develop leaf lobes or holes.

The plant grows up to 20 meters tall in the wild and has large leathery, shiny, pinnate, heart-shaped leaves that are 25 to 90 cm long and 25 to 75 cm wide.
