I wasn't aware that there were people who believed in a flat earth until I read someone's comment here on Steemit about how a woman who worked for NASA should not be able to post about her work because it was essentially brainwashing readers or perpetuating falsehoods.
More recently I have read comments by folks who think it wouldn't take a huge worldwide conspiracy to cover up the fact that the world is actually flat. Very few people even know it, and they want to keep it a secret. Why, I never did figure out.
I guess if the world is flat, than the moon is also flat but disc shaped? Or are we seeing an atmospheric optical illusion every night?
It is baffling that these ideas persist in the face of all the evidence?
I've travelled around the world and it's definitely not flat.

I did watch it. They seem very convinced. The guy on the far left was the most articulate. The other two, especially the guy on the right, not so much. The guy in the middle talked way too much for all of their good. I really need to find out what people who believe in a flat earth think those who claim it is spherical are trying to pull. So what if we didn't ever go into orbit or to the moon? Is it financial—they don't think the money should be spent on anything related to it? Or is it something else—like it would make that big of the difference if people knew the world was flat as opposed to it being roughly ball shaped?
"Why can't they show us people walking upside down? Or airplanes flying upside down?" Well, on their part of the globe, they think we're the ones walking upside down. I don't know. I think it would be much more evident that we were living on a flat planet if people actually got to the end of it and had to turn around. All of the people who have circumnavigated the earth? I just don't understand what supposed to be accomplished by duping us all into thinking the world is round. There's obviously still something in the sky we call a moon that comes and goes. We're still orbiting around the sun. Which I suppose both those things have to be flat, too.
It truly is mind boggling. What is wrong with these guys? Why would anyone think this way?
